Herbs That Heal is a worthy handbook.,
By
This review is from: Herbs That Heal: Prescription for Herbal Healing (Paperback)
How to fortify your natural defenses against the ills of our daily lives from insomnia to cancer; arthritis to CFS; skin problems to allergies - even the common cold. This book provides an interesting & historical document concerning herbal remedies that have been used for centuries. The authors disclaim any suggestion or recommendation for the use of any herb & remind us to use the information in this book to add to your already existing personal medical care. A no-frills, thorough workbook.

This book has really been helpful to me. It seems to be real comprehensive. It tells about every herb imaginative. It gives a good summary about each herb and how it works to solve various health problems. It points out that most medicines are derived from herbs. As we all know, herbs were the first known medicines. Their history goes back many thounsand years. I try to govern what herbs i take based on what health problems i am presently having. So far i have had good results with the use of herbs. I Can Honestly Recommend This Book

As a compliementary read to the Vitamins Bible, I started reading Herbs that Heal to guide me in my day-to-day living. It's interesting to note that some drugs we commonly use have actually been derived or have major ingredients from these herbs. From common ailments to preventable diseases, the right concoction of herbs can actually help us. A very good guide to herbal/dietary supplements. But just like any other medicine, plase consult your health practitioners before popping anything in your systems.

I hate to give this book a less than excellent review because I do like Michael Savage aka Michael Weiner. My main problem with it is it really never goes out on a limb and tells you which herb will cure what problem. It just paints a general picture with broad strokes. It's almost like the writers were spooked by the Medical Mafia, so there's very few recommendations that aren't hedged.

This book is so interesting, I can hardly put it down. It has an index in the back so you can look things up by either the herb or the ailment you wish to treat. I find the cancer fighter information so interesting as well as the ways to treat things like mood problems, etc. There is so much information in here I will be reading this and referencing it for years!

A very useful and well-organized reference book. Definitely one of the better books of the genre. I was surprised to learn, though, that the author is better known as Michael Savage, a very popular AM talk radio host heard around the country. I really find his political observations insightful and provacative, and I find his recommendations on vitamims and herbal remedies no less so.

Michael and Janet Weiner wrote a wonderful book. I think it may be useful, however, for everyone to know that Michael Weiner also works under the nom de guerre "Michael Savage" as a radically conservative nationally-syndicated talk show host. It's quite an interesting contradiction really. Mr. Weiner is of the medical far left, while his alter-ego is of the political far right. Both MichaelSavage.com as well as articles at Salon.com (and other sites) will confirm this interesting duality.
