I've been playing saxophone professionally for over 40 years and have owned virtually every brand of stand during that time. This is absolutely the best I've encountered along the way! It is built like a tank, is easily adjustable and folds into a very handy size, especially for a baritone stand. I also own the alto/tenor models and like them just as much. I would highly recommend the Hercules brand. This model accommodates both low A and Bb models. These folks know what a professional musician needs!

I've had this stand for a couple of months, now. This seems to be a good stand, and I would give it 4.5 stars if I could.

The stand feels well built and sturdy. I don't have a fear that it may tip over easily and I have ordered an alto/tenor Hercules that should be here next week. I guess that's a pretty good endorsement. It may replace my Hamilton, which I've used for many, many years, and I plan on writing a review for the alto/tenor stand after using it for a couple of months.

I have found only two negatives with it, and they are fairly minor.

The part that the bottom of the bell rests against moves every time you pack up the stand so that you have to re-position it the next time you set it up. The other thing is that the spring pins that you push in to release the various folding parts are sometimes a bit stiff and you need to really push on them to get them to release.

I'll provide my own counterpoint:
Let me say, though, that having the spring pins so stiff is probably better in the long run, as you don't have to worry about those parts becoming lose over time. The bottom rest changing positions is a very small annoyance and I could probably place a mark there to remember where to set it. The fact that it moves does make it easier to pack the stand flat.

I bought this sax stand from Amazon in 2013 to replace an identical stand I bought about four years ago. The first stand was not perfect but was serviceable and relatively cheap for a bari stand. It broke at the top bracket (a weak point on the stand because unlike the rest of the stand, it is made from stamped sheet metal welded to the ring that holds the bell), and I ordered a replacement. The replacement broke on first use (top bracket detent failed), and I checked the mfr warranty, because there was no information about warranty that came with the product. At the mfr web page, there is a tab marked "warranty information" but when you go there, it states that the company's local dealers handle warranty claims. There is a list of local dealers which included every music store in my area (SF Bay); when I contacted the local repair/retail store I usually use, they told me they sold Hercules products, but they were not any kind of exclusive dealer and had no information about warranty. The opened a boxed stand they had, and confirmed there was no warranty information in it. Last, and most frustrating, when I then tried to contact the company by clicking on their contact information link, I was again referred for all inquiries to the their "dealer network." At this point I gave up and returned the product - and all credit to Amazon, they immediately refunded. I bought a Konig & Meyer stand that is lighter, more expensive, and comes with a 5 year warranty and has spare parts available from the mfr. But what if the Hercules had broken after two or three months? I doubt Amazon would have accepted the return at that point (understandably), and I would have had no recourse, because, of course, there is no warranty on this product. I would avoid this manufacturer until they actually have an explicit warranty, and stop misleading the public by implying they do on their website.

The stand works great...BUT...they have stopped drilling the holes in the support rod and now use a "pressure method" to hold the adjustable height post in place. It does not fully hold...my P. Mauriat bari is a rather heavy weight bari and when I put it in the stand it slowly slides down. I ended up drilling holes in the adjust pole so I had a "firm" lock-in for my "standing" and "sitting" heights. The stand works great now! I did contact Hercules about this issue and the person I spoke with said they would convey my issues to management...whether they act or not ??? It's still a very good Bari Sax Stand. One thing I don't understand is why they don't put a "peg hole" on both sides, as I often have multiple woodwinds (flute/piccolo/clarinet) that I have to play on a gig...with one peg hole I end up bring another stand to accomodate the other instruments.

Very nice! Works perfectly with my selmer mark VI Bari sax. It doesn't have the low a key and the stand still fits perfectly

This stand is very sturdy and a quality item and is a good value. One thing that is not obvious from the description is that their are only two height adjustments, the sliding square rod has a hole at the top and the bottom and you have those two choices with the locking lever. The rest, on the other hand, is fully adjustable and will lock in any position. I am sure the designers made it this way to guarantee that the height adjustment will not slide under any weight. If I had to pick another nit, the foam that holds the bell has a gap in it, unlike the foam on the rest. These are all minor points, however. This is a very secure and heavy stand and I am very impressed.
