4.0 out of 5 stars Overall a good CD however certain things where lacking, July 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Vol. 3 - Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I enjoyed this CD. From the isle of Eire to the climatic finale with Dayhak this music catches the soul and makes you feel weak at the knees. Joesph LaDuca has truly done it again. My only complaint was that there is still more music that has yet to be released. Even though we got to hear the Widow Twanky's solo we still have not heard the dance piece that made it famous in the last season. Also other things that were missed, like the death of Alchmene, and the funeral of Sarina right after Lucy Lawless's solo. these are just some to name a few. The lack of pieces reminds me of what John Williams does on his Star Wars soundtracks. Just leaves those little things out. Other than that a excellent CD

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect but ...., July 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Vol. 3 - Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Now that Hercules: The Legendary Journeys is gearing down to it's final few episodes in the sixth season i fear we will not be getting a Vol. 4 of LoDuca's inspiring HERCULES music! And there is sooo much more to hear. Where is Widow Twanky's song from "And Fancy Free ..." Where is the muscial number from "Just Passing Through" just after Herc's guitar solo?? Yet, in saying this, I LOVE this Vol. 3 -- It's the best I've heard so far from either HERCULES or XENA.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hercules fan from the good U.S.A, June 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Vol. 3 - Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Lo Duca does it again with this multi-pleaseing harmounous disc. With a rock tune "Air Herc." from the episode "Just passing through." An explosive soundtrack for an explosive 5th season with the death and return of Iolaus and personal struggle witht the demon Dahak. Plus all new geographical locations from Eire to the frosty norse lands, each with a set of tracks of its own. Including the unbelivably mellow flute songs of the Eire episodes. Which will blow you away with amazement. And will make you smile and laugh at the more journeys section of the CD with the infamous Widow Twanky's solo. A great soundtrack truly some of the greatest music.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best cd of the series!, December 19, 2010
By
This review is from: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Vol. 3 - Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This cd is by far the best of the series,as it deals with the most emotional time of Hercules'life, when he lost his best friend, seemingly forever. The music showcases the turmoil Hercules was dealing with, and how he finally found himself again. Season five was the best of the tv series, and this cd features the great music that made it so. Herc fans, you need to get this one for your collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars Joseph LoDuca Does It Again!, June 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Vol. 3 - Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Received this CD only a few days ago and haven't been able to put it away. I'm listening even as I write this review! Mr. LoDuca is a master and while his XENA CDs are unique and interesting he's really out done himself this year on H:TLJ. In a season (5th) fraught with problems (including the death of a major and much beloved character who is later brought back to life) the music has been superb. Be it the errie "Sumeria: Faith/Descent" tracks or the mysterious and lilting (and rather Irish) "Eire" tracks or even the misc. fun stuff like Hercules "Air Herc" guitar solo (f/ "Just Passing Through")and The Widow Twanky (doesn't she look a little like Iolaus?)singing "One Dinar a Dance", there is something for everyone! The CD art is rather interesting too. The cover with Hercules (in Eire-Norse clothes)to the front, Iolaus a bit to the back with a blade is interesting, especially when you note the red hues surrounding the characters and a pair of rather evil eyes (Dahak?)peering at us over the two men's heads. Inside are some good black and white photos as well as a stunner on back with Hercules and a white horse. A GREAT CD package ... Now, if only they would spell Iolaus' name correctly. It's NOT Iolus.
