It was that energy that brought them together at a Jim Messina songwriting workshop over four years ago. It was then Antara and Delilah set out on a musical journey that was to take them from the open mic scene in Santa Barbara to produce two CDs and to perform over 100 shows in the last year alone.
Beginning with the simple goal to play as much music as possible, Antara & Delilah have turned their contemporary folk sound into an entity of it's own. Their heartfelt songs have connected them with listeners around the globe. Their ability to connect with an audience is as effortless in front of four thousand people at a large festival as it is in an intimate coffee house. The love and joy in their music is as evident in a live performance as it is on an mp3 downloaded in your own living room. With musical comparisons as diverse as the Dixie Chicks and Joni Mitchell, Antara & Delilah blend their own experience into the music they write and perform. Their radiant harmonies and thoughtful lyrics give voice to the subtle and sometimes bittersweet moments that comprise their journey through life.
Antara & Delilah have performed their original music in diverse regions, from LA to Boulder, Austin to New York City. They played at the Four Corners Folk Festival in the Fall of 2000 on both the acoustic stage and the main stage, sharing the billing with Eddie From Ohio, Nickel Creek and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. They also conducted a harmony workshop during the festival, which was one of only four offered. They have opened for Lucy Kaplansky and Jonatha Brooke and have sung with Jim Messina at several events in Santa Barbara including a festival sharing the billing with Jackson Browne, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Kenny Loggins. They were also honored to sing at Kenny Loggins Christmas Unity Telethon in 2000. In September 2001 Antara & Delilah produced Peace Aid, an intimate show with Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket) and Cindy Alter, raising over $3000 for the disaster relief fund. Antara & Delilah are proud to have won Best Local Band of Santa Barbara in 20! ! 01.

This review is from: From Here (Audio CD)
These lovely tunesmiths make me smile every time I hear them. This new album is a strong collection of well rendered, meaningful pop songs. Listen to it once and you'll find that the harmonies are gorgeous, the instrumentation is strong and engaging, and the lyrics are from the heart. Listen to it twice and I bet you'll catch yourself singing these songs in the shower

Another Amazing Album by Antara & Delilah,

This review is from: From Here (Audio CD)
If you liked their first album, "Dua", you're in for a real treat with "From Here". Antara & Delilah shine on this new album, combining multiple styles and instruments to compliment their beautiful voices and harmonies. If you haven't heard their music but enjoy Christine Lavin, Four Bitchin' Babes, the Indigo Girls, and Kenny Loggins as much as I do, you'll love "From Here"!
