A classic,

I remember listening to this album a lot. You could tell a lot of hard work went into it. I would put it up against anything going at the time including efforts by the Beatles. It's one of the great unknown albums of rock.

a great one,

I am/was a big Country Joe & The Fish fan, and find it hard to pick a favorite album. Guess this would be it though -- it's musically very rich and has a transcendent quality about it.I can't believe no one has cited this album as an influence/reference/inspiration for Gomez's latest Liquid Skin. Critics are naming just about every late 60s group BUT the Fish. Listen to these two side by side and you'll be blown away.

This music was originally released about the same time as "C J and the Fish". C J is my favorite of the two. This one's close. Same type of sound. Dreamy rock or bouncing rock. With touches of love thrown in. The only other C J album I owned was "Hold on it's coming". Different from these. Very interesting. Almost a story about a 70s hitchhiker. "Mr. Big Pig" was one of the cuts. You know, 70s rebellion.
