Street Punk Swedes Bombshell Rocks combine anthemic lyrics, driving guitars, and double-time punk drumming for a highly energetic sound. This album is a great successor to the very Brit-'77 'Street Art Gallery' and the smoother 'Cityrats & Alleycats'. 'Warpath' and 'From Here And On' are standout tracks while 'Crossroads' is an artful semi-ballad. If you like the less-Celtic side of Dropkick Murphys ('Gauntlet' and the earlier stuff) you'll be diggin' this like a madman. PS - If you like one song by these guys, you'll want ALL their albums.

This band has evolved over time (until they devolved). Brought in more finesse as they matured. From their basics they added an ability to actually bring their music off. Until From Here And On, which is so over produced and un-Bombshell Rocks. I have Warpath ( a really great song) on my major playlist and I just learned it's a BSR song (OK, I just put punk on my pod and don't look at the bands, especially since I take a lot of stuff off the Warped Tour, who can remember?). And, yes I'm an old punk (59) with Ramones, Sex Pistols and Dead Boys in my playlist. Although I really like Bouncing Souls (sometimes a bit poppy), Rancid (sometimes a little over the edge), Drop Kick Murphy's, The Business, Swingin' Utters, Tilt, Blink 182 and Twenty2.

But to compare this BSR album to their earlier stuff (except that dumb acoustic one?) is an exercise in stupidity. Street Art Gallery and City Rats and Alley Cats (I'm listening to "The Will the Message" as I'm writing this!) are much superior from an all out thrash stand point (I just switched to 1.80 Down, how can you compare?). I don't know the time line, but this album could have brought about their demise!

Look to their earlier stuff if you want that true punk feel.

They have a sticker on the front of the cd that says "Fans of Rancid will like this". Well, I wouldn't really say that, but it's a pretty good cd nonetheless. Not exactly hardcore punk, it's pretty melodic and more mid-tempo paced excluding Begging for Mercy, the only real punk song on this cd, in my honest opinion. Emotional lyrics. Pretty good band that not a lot of people have heard about, however his voice gets rather annoying sometimes.
