A great album,
By A Customer
This review is from: Here Come the Brides (Audio CD)
First to get a little backround on the The Brides. The Brides are London LeGrand (vocals) Tracii Guns (guitar) Nikki Sixx (bass) and Scott Coogan (drums). Sixx is best known as a member of Motley Crue And Tracii is known for his band L.A. Guns, as well as being the original guitarist for Guns N' Roses, before Slash even. So to the album itself, Shut the F**k Up the first single which is simply amazing, fast punky and aggressive. I Don't Care followers a similar style of "STFU" but has more love song style lyrics I Got A Gun starts off slow, but has a great chorus, which gives LeGrand a chance to show off his vocal skills. 2X Dead is more metal styled song. Brace Yourself is a hard rocker that has a message behind, I think. Natural Born Killers is a great song, starts off bluesy, but the chorus hits with ragey/anti-celebrity lyrics ,"let me be your one and only cockstar/357 with my goddamn onstar/ Natural Born Killers" My favorite song second to "STFU". Life follwers, its an okay song, trying to tell people not to let life pass'em by. Revolution makes a point about society and how people are sucked in mass media, lyrics like, "forced fed white trash rats of today". Only Get So Far, the ballad of the album it's also just okay, I think the guitar line is the same or at least similar to Motley Crue's "On With The Show" from the Album Too Fast For Love. This is a good way to sum up the whole album, this album is similar to Motley's Too Fast, raw powerful, loud and an original for its time. To sum it all up though, this album combines a metal sound with punk ideal, and makes a great album for anyone who like's their rock loud and powerful, a must have for Crue and Guns fans.

This is not 80s rock,
By A Customer
This review is from: Here Come the Brides (Audio CD)
Seems like some of the reviewers here were expecting to hear Theatre of Pain or something. Either that or they just hate Nikki Sixx (more likely). This really doesn't sound anything like 80s rock. I don't understand the criticism of the album only having 9 songs - some of the best albums of all-time had only 9 songs or less - nor do I understand the criticism of the band name. What, you don't like the album because of the name of the band? Huh? This is a very good rock album. Bottom line.

The sound of California Hard Rock still alive and kicking,
By J. H. Infante (Guadalajara, Ja, Mex) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Here Come the Brides (Audio CD)
Good news!!!!! the 80s hard rock sound from california havent die yet and im glad for this, this album is full of fun, is exciting and energetic, the time when bands like Motley Crue LA Guns , Faster Pussycat, GNR etc. was a great time we all had fun then and great memories we keep when we were younger, is refreshing to hear this hard rock style, and you feel like a kid again is almost therapeutic, and i feel sorry for those who have been hard and rude to review this album, surelly they are "nu metal" fans, in five years themselves will critizise "nu metal" like they critizice 80s hard rock now , MTV sells them what they want to sell , but if you are a real fan , get your copy of "here come the brides" as soon as you can.
