5.0 out of 5 stars As Good As Connie?, September 22, 2007

Ever since Country Radio decided that real Country Music was "too Country" for Country Radio, the only place you can get the real thing is on the Internet.
I remember when I heard "The Hinges On The Door" earlier this year.I said to myself:"This is a Connie Smith song, but it's not Connie singing".I found out the singer was Amber Digby, and after I heard the song a couple more times,I told myself she was just as good as Connie.
Now,that's like saying "just as good as Michael Jordan" or"just as good as Wayne Gretzky".
Since I've bought the CD and listened to it about ten times,I'm convinced she's at least in Connie's class.
She also covers songs by Larry Gatlin,Ronnie Milsap,John Anderson & Delia Bell and Merle Haggard and makes them her own, which is I believe the test of a true stylist.Justin Trevino's production is flawless and there's not a "filler" in the bunch.
If you think that Shania Twain and Faith Hill are Country singers, listen to this record. You're in for a shock...and a treat!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Country-Awesome Talent, April 13, 2008

In the tradition of Patsy Cline and Connie Smith, with the talent to match, Amber Digby is in a class by herself. Both of her albums are an extention of each other and a throwback to when Country Music was "real" Country Music and not the hyper music, more rock than not, which passes as country today. Only if you appreciate great songs performed by an artist with exceptional talent should you consider purchasing this album. Looking forward to her next installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars REAL Country Music!, November 14, 2010
This review is from: Here Come The Teardrops (Audio CD)
If you are searching for traditional country music, the kind that Nashville has forgotten about after it turned to promoting "American Idol" winners and Australian metrosexuals, then look no further than Amber Digby. She grew up watching Loretta Lynn and Connie Smith from backstage while her father played bass in Lynn's band and her mother sang backup and harmony for Connie Smith. Amber soaked it all in and learned well. Her phrasing and range are impeccable. You can hear the influence of Loretta Lynn in her voice, but she has a style all of her own. Check out her other albums and you will find her covers of George Jones, Loretta, Johnny Rodriquez, Merle Haggard, and others. She has begun to write her own songs, found on her latest album "Another Way To Live". Check out her own excellent composition, "After It Breaks".

My favorite song on this album is "Weak In The Knees", a song about the despair of unfulfilled love and waiting for the real thing to come along. I've never heard this song before, but I can't imagine anyone doing it better than Amber Digby! She has a knack for finding obscure or neglected songs from the past and making them her own.

I first heard Amber Digby several months ago on Sirius satellite radio (Willie's Place) and began to search the internet for her music. All I can say is "Wow!", I can't believe she hasn't been given a major recording contract. The only contemporary female country singer that can compare is Patty Loveless. She is that good!

There is still an audience out there for traditional, straight up country music. Nashville is ignoring us, so we have to seek out and support the new artists who still perform this classic music. I put Amber Digby at the top of that list of new artists.

If you like traditional country performed by an artist who respects the music, give Amber Digby a listen. All of her albums are excellent. You will not be disappointed with any of them.
