Fredric Brown (1906-1972) was the author of hundreds of mystery, crime, horror and science fiction stories and novels. His novel The Fabulous Clipjoint won the Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America.

Disappointing,

Ultimately disappointing. Doesn't really work as a psychological portrait, but isn't really a mystery. Can't hold a candle (ha ha) to works like Nightmare Alley or The Deadly Percherons.
