Product Description

Lacy Taylor didn't exactly have a fairytale childhood. After being abandoned by both her parents and raised by her grandfather, she learned to take care of herself at a young age. Fiercely independent, Lacy finds herself back in Trouble, Wyoming working to pay the mortgage on the home her grandfather left her. Though she isn't pleased to be back in the town that triggers memories from her complicated past, Lacy decides to make the best of her situation until she learns her father has been released from jail and she’s not able to make the payments on the house in time. What's a girl to do?

Chase McDermott hadn't thought about Lacy Taylor in years. When he last knew her, she was nothing more than a lanky teenager who was glued to his dorky younger brother’s side. Years later, she’s standing in front of him—grown up and he must admit hot--asking for a waitress position at his restaurant. Even though she doesn’t have previous experience, he offers her a shot and right away her sexy confidence and strong convictions begin to spark something unexpected in him. But when money starts to go missing, the pressure is on Chase to figure out which employee has the greatest motive.

While Chase and Lacy’s attraction continues to escalate, her personal problems are on the rise when her half-sister comes into her life forcing her to deal with the mother that let her down. Lacy and Chase’s relationship culminates in a windfall that neither of them ever fathomed and challenges Lacy to learn what it means to trust someone. Chase will have to push aside his stubborn, unemotional side if there’s any chance they can reconcile their steamy affair into a real future. Can they get past all the roadblocks or will they fall prey to their own troubles?

4.0 out of 5 stars Hits the sweet spot!, September 20, 2011

This review is from: Here Comes Trouble (Kindle Edition)
Having read "Looking for Trouble," the first in this series, I was looking forward to reading "Here Comes Trouble." This book was worth the wait. I hope to hear more from this quaint little town in Wyoming.

In "Here Comes Trouble," we meet Lacy Taylor, a waitress at a very nice restaurant owned by the McDermott family. She's had a not so great childhood and has recently lost her grandfather, the only living relative she's ever loved and been close to. Lacy is very independent, hard working, level headed and making the best out of her life as it is for now.

McDermott's general manager, Chase McDermott is egotistical, hot and has no problem getting a date in town or around it. He's the brother of her best friend who always picked on her as a teenager. They've always had a back and forth relationship, Chase knowing just what to say to push her buttons and enjoys the rise it never fails to get out of her. Chase is dealing with some theft issues at the restaurant and I felt that it was handled as a part of the book, not just a back ground minor subject that detracts from the story.

Lacy thinks she has her life in some sort of control until an unknown relative shows up in town, dredging up the past. She starts to flirt with Chase and realizes she may have some true feelings that she didn't know she had. And to top it off, her trouble making, no good can come from him father is now out of jail and could possibly be hanging around town just waiting to cause problems.

I really enjoyed the characters in this story. I found Lacy charming, real and relatable and Chase couldn't be hotter. Both are very believable, honest characters that makes this a heartwarming tale. The story deals with real life problems and feelings. And the sex was off the charts hot!

There are few grammatical & continuity errors, but nothing that detracts from the story. I liked that the book had some depth and length to it. I enjoy Erin's writing style and believe she has a strong future ahead of her.

Can not wait to read more of her work. I couldn't put it down.

Once I finished "Looking for Trouble" the first book in this series I couldn't wait for this book to come out, literally looking everyday for it. This was a great read I loved the whole thing...not to mention the love scenes were hot. I see big things a head for Erin. Hopefully there will be more books in this series, I would love to see what happens to these characters.

I loved reading Here Comes Trouble. I could not put it down. I finished it in less than 12 hours. :) It was the same way with Kern's first novel Looking for Trouble. Lacy has such a great backstory that keeps you intrigued throughout the novel. Chase is a reforming bad boy who has your rooting for him from the start! I love their romance! Erin Kern is a great storyteller! BUY this book!

More About the Author

I was born in Houston, Tx. and am the oldest of two sisters. After moving around umpteen times, I finally settled in northern California, where I lived most my life, but am finally back home now in Texas. I live in the north Ft. Worth area with my husband, 6 year old daughter and 2 year old son.

I absolutely love to read! With the exception of my family, reading is my one passion I would never be able to give up. I've spent countless hours researching some of my favorite authors on Amazon looking for that perfect book to read next. Once I find it, I cherish every page until I've reached the end.

Second to my passion for reading is writing. One day, while going about my daily routine of working, chores, and other domesticated stuff, I sat down at my computer and started typing. I typed until every single word, character and setting was out of my head and on the computer screen. Seven years later, I've finally published my first book, and I could not be happier what my chosen profession.

This passion of mine was a collaborative effort of some of my favorite authors, including, but not limited to, Linda Howard, Cindy Gerard, Rachel Gibson, Susan Mallery, Lori Foster... I could go on and on but I don't want this biography to stretch from now until the end of time.
