A hunka-hunka Siberian tiger male ...,
By
This review is from: Here Kitty, Kitty! (Paperback)
[Note: The following review refers to the digital edition of this work.]
When we last left Shelly Laurenston's world of shape shifters, Angelina Santiago had just disappeared while on her way to visiting her friends Sara and Miki in California. Her purse, some blood, and a few torn-up hyena shifters had been found outside her shop in Texas, and her friends thought she was dead. Turns out she wasn't dead, just kidnapped by a pair of Siberian tiger shifters from North Carolina. Thinking they were saving her from the hyenas (not knowing Angie, they didn't realize she could hold her own in a fight), they brought her to their brother Nik's estate, where she woke up with a splitting headache, mad as hell. Nik Vorislav, one hunka-hunka Siberian tiger male, certainly didn't want her staying with him! After all, tigers were loners, like most cats, which is why they never associated with the wolf shape shifters, who lived in packs. Love `em and leave `em, Nik always said. Of course, this was difficult with human females, they were so clingy. But ... Angie was very decorative. Maybe she'd understand that they could have some fun, then go their separate ways? Maybe not... I think the thing that I like so much about Ms. Laurenston's work is that it is totally irreverent, and off the wall. As in Pack Challenge and Go Fetch!, the first two books in this shape shifter trilogy, the action is extremely physical. The hero and heroine brawl it out like Burton and Taylor in The Taming of the Shrew. In any other universe, Sara, Miki, and Angie would be arrested for assault and battery, but in Ms. Laurenston's shape shifter universe, they're just assertive females holding their own against the wicked hyenas. Although this story could stand alone, you will understand the action much better if you read the two other books first since it is one continuous story. I loved the juxtaposition of Angie's methods of self-defense, and her impeccable sense of style. And I loved the "hillbilly" family of Siberian tigers, and especially Nik. God, what a sexy, cuddly, mouth-watering man! A wide thread of humor runs through the plot, adding a fillip of laughter to the hot, hot, hot relationship of the hero and heroine. The many sex scenes are graphic, sexy, explicit, sexy, and inspiring - did I mention sexy? Even if you only like the book half as much as I did, you will love it! -- Jean, Fallen Angel Reviews (courtesy of Fallen Angel Reviews)

This is the first review I have ever written, however, I enjoyed this book so much I wanted to pass along my endorsement. It's not necessary to read Magnus Heat before Here, Kitty, Kitty, but it will help in recognizing characters. There are laugh out loud funny happenings (Angelina as perfect ball-control pitcher)and more than enough steam heat for anyone. The characters are eminently likeable even if slightly twisted. I'm a sucker for the strong leading man who knows that the prickly independent woman just needs someone to love her.

Here Kitty, Kitty by Shelly Laurenston,

This review is from: Here Kitty, Kitty (Magnus Pack) (Paperback)
I like the way Shelly Laurenston writes love scenes. She has the talent to make me sweat from the heat coming off the pages. The third Magnus Pack book, "Here Kitty, Kitty", is no different. My problem with this one is the heroine...I really, really disliked her.
Angelina doesn't take crap from anybody; she hands it out instead. She's a mixed-descent American with attitude and the ability to kick butt...even when going up against non-humans. As the only full human left in her triad of friends, she's become something of a target for the hyenas looking to hurt the pack. So when she goes down in a fight and wakes up somewhere strange, she's only a little surprised to discover she's not in the 'lion's den'...this den is for tigers only! Nikolai knew he should never have shown interest in the mouthy broad from the airport. Of course, he never thought his brothers would kidnap her and bring her to his house either. He's knows she'll be trouble, and within 5 minutes of waking up she's knee'd him and cracked a toilet tank lid over his head...guess he was right about the trouble part. So if she's so much trouble, why is he so hot for her? Smoking hot sex alert. But also, nasty, witchy, heroine alert. She seemed to be nasty just because...and that put my back up (hey! at least I didn't say 'put my fur up', or 'rubbed me the wrong way') from the first. Her interactions were hostile to just about everyone in the book, including her friends! This was something I never got over. And Nikolai, hot as he was, wasn't a very intriguing hero for me either. For someone with animal instincts, it sure took him a long time to recognize his feelings for Angelina. He spent most of his time moaning about his family...just not very Alpha for me. So even though I disliked the heroine, and the hero too to a certain extent, I still gave this sucker three stars for the smoking hot sex. Because...it's my review and I can!

The 'heroine' needed a bar of soap taken to her mouth,
This review is from: Here Kitty, Kitty: Magnus Pack, Book 3 (Kindle Edition)
I'd like to state I'm not a fashionista, nor am I a purist when it comes to someone's vocabulary; personally I swear like a sailor when the situation warrants it. However, after finishing "Here Kitty, Kitty" these are the two glaring problems in this novel that drove me up a wall.
We're constantly being told by the author that the heroine is an extremely fashionable, well-dressed woman who owns what I'm going to assume is a high-end boutique, even though we're never specifically told this. We're told how she dropped twenty thousand dollars on shoes, dresses, camisoles, skirts, etc. for her to wear while she was in NC and yet what does she stroll around in 90% of the time? Shorts and a t-shirt. And not just normal shorts...jean shorts. A) NO one who knows and wears the designers D&G, Chanel, and Marc Jacobs would be caught DEAD in jean shorts. B) Jean shorts? Is the author stuck in the 90's? If you're going to spent a fair amount of paragraph space describing, in detail, how fashion-forward the heroine is, then don't immediately contradict yourself by putting her in jean shorts, and t-shirts. I'm pretty sure she also mentioned cut-off jean shorts at one point. Any woman who runs around dressed like that has no room to scoff at chain stores like Old Navy and the GAP, as our esteemed heroine does toward the end of the story. The second glaring error of this work is the language, specifically the over-abundance of swear words. Not only does the heroine drop the F-bomb with alarming regularity, but the hero refers to her at least 10 times as a `piece of a**'-I'm sorry, but this was just too much. As I stated at the beginning of this review, I've got a bit of my own problem when it comes to swearing but holy-moly, this heroine does not stop. Ever. She actually thinks it's big and bad to run around swearing in nearly every single sentence she utters. If I had this novel in print and took a highlighter to every sentence she vocalized that didn't include f***, or b****, the color would be few and far between. Even better? Our esteemed hero seems to think it's ok! Uh, news flash to everyone who is NOT from the south and is a little unclear on southern hospitality and southern mores: any man who is a southern gentleman would take one look at this girl and think she was white-trash based on the trash spewing from her mouth non-stop. Southern ladies wouldn't say s***, even if they had a mouthful, and southern gentlemen are likewise as courteous. And have you ever noticed how ignorant and immature people sound when they curse non-stop like that? I started this book thinking the hero and heroine were competent business owners and ended it thinking they would be better suited to working at their local Piggly Wiggly...as food baggers. The only redeeming part of this novel was the epilogue. At least then we were able to see what happened with the characters from the first two novels in the series-where they ended up, that they had their HEAs, etc. I am thoroughly disappointed with this novel-the author had an opportunity to create a decent world with interesting characters and completely dropped the ball in the end. On a final note: I'm from North Carolina. "Ya'll" is plural, it's a conjugation of `you' and `all,' meaning-more than one person. There were NUMEROUS times the author used this word interchangeably in place of `you all' and the appropriate singular use, `you.' Get it right.

I have just joined this series with this book and it take out with a blast. Angelina Santiago had just disappeared and her friends think she has been killer by a pack of hyena shifters. Well she was attacked but is rescued by or more liked kidnapped by some Siberian tiger shifters from North Carolina. They take her to their brothers house for safe keeping. The problem is he doesn't know this and when he finds out and goes to explain the miss understanding to Angelina she attacked him with a head butt and a toilet seat. She actually breaks his nose.
Nik Vorislav, Siberian tiger male, does not want her staying with him. Siberian tigers are loners and its hard enough to keep his family from constantley showing up let along now to have this toliet throwing mad women in his house. But he cant help but be turn on by this fiesty little human in her designer shoes. But the problem with humans are they are so clingy and he cant have that. he wont have that. And yet he cant seem to stop being attracted to her anyway. But now that he has her he has decided he does need to protect her someone is out to kill her and there is some kind of terf war going on in the shifters world. So even tho he doesnt really want to be involved. Involved he is.

I just discovered Ms. Laurenston and am tickled pink that I did. I read the first three Magnus Pack series books in four days. I have yet to read the fourth one. I think series books are the absolute best. I like to get a glimpse of the previous characters. I also love a good love story and these were certainly that. You jump right into the story with no lag time. Ms. Laurenston contributes an added feature that other love/shapeshifter books don't always contain -- laughter. I laughed out loud on a number of scenes. These were three tough ladies dealing with three tough -- and loveable -- men. One scene in this third book caught be completely by surprise. I ride a vanpool to and from work. I was riding home while reading the third book from my Kindle. One of the characters can't dance worth beans and when she started to dance, to the shock of observers, the scene had me laughing until there were tears in my eyes. My fellow passengers didn't know what to make of me. Boy, did I enjoy these books. I wanted seven more of them with the same characters. Thank you, Ms. Laurenston for being able to combine a love story with humor. I'm lining up the rest of your books for an enjoyable read. I wouldn't be surprised if I reread these three within the next few months. Keep writing and I'll keep reading.

Pretty funny and good read,
This review is from: Here Kitty, Kitty (Magnus Pack) (Paperback)
This is the third book in a series of books about three friends, and their lives with Shape shifters. Angelina disappeared in the last moments of the previous book (the two books leading up to this are Pack Challenge, and Go Fetch). It turns out she has been rescued from Hyenas (not so good shape shifters) by Siberian Tigers, and sent to live with one of them in Hill billy country.
Nikolai, said Hill Billy Tiger is pretty darn sexy, but he is a loner. Meantime, Angelina's friends don't know what has happened to her and Angelina is wishing, well, for a short time, that maybe the Hyenas had got her after all. Laurensten does a great line in hilarious dialogue, but she is also pretty good on the other stuff. This is one crazy, sexy fun novel. Its brim full of good nature, and sexual tension. The Chemistry between Nikolai ( the tiger) and Angelina sizzles.

The title of this book grabbed me and persuaded me to get it. I love female characters that grab the bull by the horns and give him a slap on the butt. The males must have a healthy sense of self worth and be able to play with said slapper.I laughed during the whole book and thoroughly enjoyed the supporting characters. This is the first in the series have gotten but I will go back and get the others since i enjoyed this one so much. I would love to read about the brothers and hope they will be sporting good times of their own soon.
