This is the gift I'm giving to every pregnant friend I have!! This book is just hilarious and I have given it as gift to some of my pregnant friends (while all the rest of their shower gifts were for 'baby' this book was such a nice gift for the mother!). I was so happy when the moms I gave this book to--despite being in the midst of postpartum exhaustion-- said From Here to Maternity was the only thing they felt like reading because it made them laugh again and again!

For my money, From Here to Maternity really hits the right note. It is both funny and sweet. Teitell knows how to take any difficult parenting moment and relate it with Seinfeldian humor and yet maintains the warmth and love of a real mom who has been through it. This is an honest look at the earliest days of motherhood, told in such an accessible style that it is guaranteed to hook any mom, no matter what state of parenting she is in. Teitell conveys deliciously the insecurities we all feel parenting in upscale America but makes us feel like we are actually part of the hip set. From Here to Maternity is fun and a MUST READ for anyone who is in need of a good laugh -- which means every mom!

I laughed so much while I read this book on a recent trip that everyone around me kept asking the title. The author found the humor in the everyday stresses of life as a mom with young children. The reality is - raising kids is hard work and it becomes so much easier if we allow ourselves time to laugh about it, rather than stress about it. I recently sent my copy to a friend to read and we have spent a ton of time comparing our favorite parts. A must read!

Beth Teitell hilariously recounts life with her two young boys. It reminded me of so many feelings I had 10 years ago when my daughter was an infant. I wish I could tell my stories as truthfully as the author does - and she's so funny!

If you want a book that will make you laugh out loud, buy Beth Teitell's book. It makes you wish you had a best friend like her.

What can I say? I am a mother of three young children and have a wonderful, crazy and sometimes difficult life. Beth Teitell captures it all perfectly. "From Here to Maternity" had me laughing out loud. Her honesty, sentimentality and sense of humor about the joys and pitfalls of motherhood makes this book a must-have for all new moms and even seasoned veterans nostalgic for the old days. I highly recommend it to all parents.

I was given this book as a gift and loved it. It's such a realistic view of the trials and triumphs of motherhood and does a wonderful job of putting it all into perspective. I felt like I could immediately relate to Beth Teitell and found her voice to be laugh-out-loud funny and touching (I even got a little teary eyed at the end). I know I'll think back to her experiences as I go through them myself and they will make me laugh and remind me that I'm not alone in my thoughts and feelings.

Being child-free, I turned to a mom friend for advice on baby shower gifts. She mentioned that she had seen this book menmtioned on Daily Candy Kids, so I included it in a basket of baby trinkets. Well, the mom-to-be is crazy about it! Apparently the humorous aspects of motherhood are conspicuously absent from the standard books, and Beth Teitell takes up the slack with good-natured empathy. I (and my mom-to-be friend) highly recommend this book for anyone who needs a lighthearted take on parenthood.

This is the book I wish I'd been given in the hospital with the birth of my son. It's "Everything you need to know" that no one else but your best girfriends will tell you. Beth Teitell is the Erma Bombeck of this generation!

I was able to read the advance copy of this book and let me tell you: It's great. All during my pregnancy, I've been feeling guilty that I am not all entusiastic and bubbly. I felt bad when people asked "Isn't it wonderful being pregnant?" And i would respond "Hell NO"

After reading this book, I felt like i was not alone. I felt like there was atleast one other mother out there with a sense of humor. Beth Teitell has a way of writting that shines humor on everything from diapers to kiddie classes. This is one of my absolute favorites! Her anecdotes are hyserical and the book flows smoothly from topic to topic. It is a laugh out loud commentary of mommy-hood from beginning to beyond!

I received a copy of Beth Teitell's book as a gift. I'm so pleased that I did, it reminds me so much of how I was feeling during my first pregnancy as well as the early years of my child's life. Beth hits the nail on the head. She is witty and truthful, all while writing in a style that makes us `regular moms' feel so much better about some of the crazy thoughts I'm sure we've all had! I plan on giving this book as a gift to all of my friends who are moms-to-be and I look forward to reading her in the future!
