The Ones You Never Forget, January 18, 2008
This review is from: Here Right Now (Audio CD)
Graham Colton's "Here Right Now" has a great pop sound. The opener is a kissing cousin to Guster's "Satellite" from their Ganging Up on the Sun CD, but has Graham's soaring vocals and his band crack thunder guitar avalanche. "You Find a Way" has another great pop beat with a catchy hook. Graham slows the pace & turns in a nice vocal on "Best Days," "Let's make the best of tonight, here comes the rest of our lives." "Forget About You" pumps furiously, "I am useless, young & stupid for thinking I'll get over you." "Cellophane Girl" begins with an acoustic guitar and strings on a sweet track, "You leave a sweet taste in my mouth on the edge of the world." "Always In Love" is another strong track with a glistening vocal by Colton. My current favorite track on the CD is "Whatever Breaks My Heart" with the powerful emotions that are mirrored by the strength of Colton's vocals and the sonic attack of the guitars on the chorus, "Round & round, you're spinning me." "New Years Resolution" has a piano backing and a pretty melody, "Here's to the ones you never forget; Here's to the year we had." I read a professional review that dismissed this CD as shallow. True, the subjects in Colton's songs are mostly romantic, but they are done well with variety in tempo and arrangement. I like it. Enjoy!

"Here" to Stay!, November 26, 2007
This review is from: Here Right Now (Audio CD)
Graham Colton's major label debut solo album "Here Right Now" is an absolute gem that sparkles in uniqueness and is heavy laden with raw emotion and pure feeling. The CD has been over two years in the making since Graham Colton Band's debut album "Drive" was released. Graham says he's never felt more a part of an album in his life. It shows. The songs are great.
The best songs include You Find a Way, Forget About You, Cellophane Girl, Always on Your Side, and Always in Love. All of the songs are sure to please even the casual listener. Buy the CD. You won't regret it!

Colton Breaks Free, January 23, 2008
This review is from: Here Right Now (Audio CD)
This CD is superb. Compare it to the Graham Colton Band CD and you realize immediately how far he's progressed. His voice is stronger and more certain and there is a lot more energy and thrust to the music. The music is also more interesting and rhythmic than it is on the Band CD (nothing wrong with that CD, this is just so much better), there's more beat here as well. The voice is the same clear tenor but more mature and certain. It's also a disc you can (and I do) listen to over and over. I don't want to go through each track separately but there is not one I want to skip over. This is a buy and keep.
