2.0 out of 5 stars Neal Schon and Jan Hammer
"Here to Stay" is the first of Schon and Hammer's two albums they recorded together.Neal Schon is the guitarist of Journey, stepping outside of Journey and doing a side project with Jan Hammer. The first song on the album "No More Lies" is an excellent song, but the remainder of the album is filled with pleasant but boring songs like Don't Stay Away, Long Time, and Time...

as 'Oh Yeah?" and 'Melodies" YOU ARE IN THE WRONG PLACE!This

album is a duet with Jan Hammer and Journey guitarist

Neal Schon and HE steals the show, not Hammer!Schon's biting

guitar riffs permeate every song, even Steve Perry shows up to

sing!Only Hammer lilting but so short "Peace Of Mind" reminds you he's here. But his guitar like synthesizer licks do add color

to these songs but the sound is 100% hard arena rock without one hint of the fusion sound of Jan Hammer. This marks the point

when Hammer went totally rock n' roll,so after a listen or two

this is excellent rock music but terrible fusion! But how can a

music be something it isn't anyway-that's what art is all about

anyway:the process,not the product.

I would only recommend this if you can find a cheap cassette or LP copy of the album at a low price.
