HERE, THERE AND EVERYWHERE tells the story of a wild parrot named Sreeeeeeeet who is trapped in the rainforest of New Guinea and later sold by a pet store in New York City to a little boy named Peter.

Together, the little boy and the little bird learn about the problems of keeping a parrot in captivity and what it means to separate a wild creature from its ecosystem.

The book both entertains and enlightens children to issues facing parrots in the wild and captivity and environmental problems like deforestation.

Following the story are a dozen educational pages about real parrots and how kids can help them.

Mira's story beautifully illustrates the plight of parrots in the wild and in captivity. As we follow Sreeeeeeeet's captivating journey, this heartwarming tale has much to teach us about the nature of these intelligent creatures and the importance of conservation in the wild. It is a "must read" for children and adults alike.

This book captures the parrot trade in an easy to understand story that kids and adults will 'get.' Well written and to the point, the artwork is beautiful -- unlike any other children's book I've seen -- the colors and imagery are so vibrant and animated they seem to pop off the page! This is a must read, sure to become a classic in children's literature.

I can not say enough good things about this book. It teaches us that parrots are very social creatures that are best left to live in flocks in the wild. The story is written so that a child can enjoy and understand it. The illustrations are breathtakingly beautiful.

After the story is told, the author includes information on parrots as well as things we can do to help protect them. The two stories about former pet parrots now living in rescues brought tears to my eyes.

It is also important to note that the author went the extra mile to have this book printed on paper that is made from 10% flax, 40% recycled post comsumer waste, and 50% sustainably harvested trees. Many books are printed on paper made from Indonesian ranforest trees; contributing to the destruction of the parrots native habitat.

Kudos to Myra Tweti for an excellent family-friendly and eco-friendly book!
