Must Read!,

This review is from: Here, There, and Everywhere (Hardcover)
Mira's story beautifully illustrates the plight of parrots in the wild and in captivity. As we follow Sreeeeeeeet's captivating journey, this heartwarming tale has much to teach us about the nature of these intelligent creatures and the importance of conservation in the wild. It is a "must read" for children and adults alike.

Adults and Kids -- A MUST READ!,

This book captures the parrot trade in an easy to understand story that kids and adults will 'get.' Well written and to the point, the artwork is beautiful -- unlike any other children's book I've seen -- the colors and imagery are so vibrant and animated they seem to pop off the page! This is a must read, sure to become a classic in children's literature.

Great book to share with a child...,

I can not say enough good things about this book. It teaches us that parrots are very social creatures that are best left to live in flocks in the wild. The story is written so that a child can enjoy and understand it. The illustrations are breathtakingly beautiful.
After the story is told, the author includes information on parrots as well as things we can do to help protect them. The two stories about former pet parrots now living in rescues brought tears to my eyes. It is also important to note that the author went the extra mile to have this book printed on paper that is made from 10% flax, 40% recycled post comsumer waste, and 50% sustainably harvested trees. Many books are printed on paper made from Indonesian ranforest trees; contributing to the destruction of the parrots native habitat. Kudos to Myra Tweti for an excellent family-friendly and eco-friendly book!

Here there and Everywhere is a great book that finally gives children the information they need to look at parrots with compassion and empathy. Mira has given all of us the ability to see all parrots, in captivity and in the wild, as the sentient beings they truly are.

When I bought my first copy and read it with my niece who is 10, she loved it and both of us were amazed at the beautiful artwork. This book is not a fantasy book, it's about a group of parrots, one of whom is trapped in the wild and taken for sale to another country but eventually winds his way back home. It gives children a taste of the problems encountered in the illegal wild bird trade which is an important dose of reality. I was so impressed I bought a second copy for my grandchildren, ages 5 and 10, and I highly recommend this book to anyone. It is beautifully done and educational at the same time.

This is the most important book for Parrots I have read to date. It tells a story in a way children can learn about the problems that wild animals face when trying to be kept as pets. Its a wonderful book, a fascinating story and the illustrations are beautiful. Everyone should read this book, young or old. Thank you Mira and Lisa for making it available. Don't buy, don't breed, adopt a bird in need.

Learned about parrots, but in a fun way,

This review is from: Here, There, and Everywhere (Hardcover)
I read 'Here, There and Everywhere' to my 4-year-old daughter and she loved it -- we both did. Sreeeet is a lorikeet who is captured and taken from his home and family and ends up with an apartment-dwelling family in New York. The story, told from Sreeeet's point of view, explains why parrots are unhappy in captivity, and why they behave the way they do when trapped. My daughter and I learned about something we see every day -- the brightly colored parrots in the neighborhood pet store. They are no longer just another animal to look at and then walk by. In addition, this is just a good story. We laughed at the funny parts, swooned at the beautiful parts, and couldn't wait to see how it ended. My daughter asked me to please read it to her again the next night, and I did.

At last a wonderful, beautifully illustrated children's book to help teach the truth about parrots, the suffering they endure in cages (prisons) and the need for them to live as a parrot with wings and to help save abused parrots. To adopt a needy parrot instead of buying one in a pet store! What a lovely story! This should be in libraries in schools everywhere. Congratulations to the the author of this very special enlightening book! Sabra Brea, Sabra's Parrot Rescue
