Editorial Reviews

2012 album from the acclaimed guitar virtuoso. Here We Go was co-produced by White and long time collaborator DC (George Benson, Al Jarreau, Bob James, Jeffrey Osborne) and includes a range of original material written in the recent and distant past and features guest spots from saxophonists David Sanborn and Kirk Whalum. Like his previous album, Good Day (2009), Here We Go is a collection of songs written and recorded to move people on a level that's beyond any preconceived concepts. It is, in many ways, a study in diversity - a collection of the joyous and the poignant, the newly crafted and the vintage.

5.0 out of 5 stars A memorable release! November 1, 2012
Format:Audio CD
What I really like most about Peter White is his untamed capacity to reinvent himself. This is his main strength. His sound is always fresh, innovative and persuasive.

This album is brilliant. But I still take Glow as my first choice if I was inquired about his masterpiece. Nevertheless this item will be chosen among the ten best smooth jazz albums of this year.

A fabulous achievement all the way through. Nobody can deny it. Go for it.

Regarded by the famous site jazztrax as the best smooth jazz album of the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Consistently great! September 27, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
For a man from England who is somewhat awkward but has great stage presence, amazes and delights almost everyone who listens to him and yet he can't read music. He rarely misses a note and just doesn't record bad albums. I first saw him in concert at Club Bene' NJ probably in the late 80's. He walked around the theater barefoot and talked about his music when there were only a few patrons prior to the show. I think I have all his albums and don't think there is one unappealing recording in the lot. Peter's choices, I think, reflect his beginnings liking Motown and soul. This latest album is just as fresh and likable as his first. How can you beat that! You have got to see him on a cruise. He either commands the stage himself or addes flavor to everyone else's licks that he accompanies. GO PETER!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy on the ear! May 5, 2012
By sunder
Format:Audio CD
The follow-up to 2009's "Good Day", British guitarist Peter White's 13th studio effort, 2012's "Here We Go", features more of the adept smooth jazz guitarist's lyrical and lightly funky cuts.
Sticking primarily to his acoustic nylon-string guitar, White mixes in keyboards, various percussion instruments, saxes, and horns to create various moods throughout with the primary vibe being one of relaxed joy.
To these ends, we get the steamy R&B-infused cut "Time Never Sleeps", the languid instrumental pop of "Our Dance", and the club-ready dance number "Joyride".
Adding to the sophisticated aura of the album are guest appearances by such artists as David Sanborn, Andrew Neu, and Kirk Whalum. M. Collar

The album debuts at # 4 of the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart.
Issue date: 31 March, 2012

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, but sounds the same.
Peter White is an excellent jazz musician, however, his music is tending to all sound the same. This is great music, but sounds just the same as all his other CDs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Go, Peter, Go!!!
Top notch guitar, as usual, and Peter White only gets better with age. The instrumentals were as strong as ever, and it easily compares to his best works.
