A Must Have For All Girls,
By A Customer
This review is from: Here's How (American Girl Library) (Paperback)
My 8-year old daughter loves this book! The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and the full-color photos and illustrations help make even the most complicated manuevers seem easy to master! She's learned how to blow buggle-gum bubbles, eat with chopsticks and build a castle with cards! She's looking forward to mastering many more of the tricks over the summer break!

Seemed the stuff in the book was cute, but for a YOUNGER girl than the age recommendations.

Still use tips from this book... 12 years later!,
This review is from: Here's How (American Girl Library) (Paperback)
My mom purchased this book for me when I was 10 years old, and I'm still using tips from it now, 12 years later! This book taught me invaluable things, like how to blow a double bubble (which I was able to use to impress the kids I nanny for), how to tie my hair into a high ponytail, and how to use chopsticks. I now work in an environment with a lot of Asian culture- I HAVE to know how to use chopsticks in order to be respectful at my job. I can attribute my skills back to this book, a book my mom happened to pick up thinking I might enjoy it.To me, I learned more from this book than a lot of others, and it just seemed like "fun" things to learn at the time. What was a fun book that taught me silly, unique tricks has helped me in many parts of my adult life, from breaking the ice with students I attended university with, to giving presentations at work today, this book really helped me learn some real life skills, while having fun.

She has tried almost everything in the book. Some she already knew, many are brand new. It's a good variety of useful skills and silly tricks. Highly recommended.

Ok,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Here's How (American Girl Library) (Paperback)
This is not a great book. Some of the instructions are easy to understand, but don't work. Immature and definatly for ages 8 and under.

It's a book more for younger kids. I got it as a gift and I do use it sometimes but only when I'm really bored.
