5.0 out of 5 stars Here's To New Dreams With Raven, March 23, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Here's to New Dreams (Audio CD)
At just the tender age of seven former Cosby Kid Raven-Symone released a cute wonderful and fun album entitled Here's To New Dreams that became a hit with kids everywhere and Raven became a role model of many children around the nation and fellow Cosby Show fans. And now for your listening pleasure a track by track song review,
1. That's what little girls are made of,
This song samples The Meters hit Thinking and is so so very cute with fun lyrics that will have your kids dancing. Be sure to listen for the reggae sounding rap vocals which is sung by Melissa Elliott who we now know as Missy Elliott,
2. First day of school,
This very cute hip-hop style song tells about Raven's first day of school and it is pretty neat with it's neat lyrics,
3. Hip-Hop-Teddybear,
What on earth does teddybears have to do with hip-hop? and what a phony title but all and all a good dancey tune,
4. Raven is the flavor,
A cute little tune introducing us to Raven and has very fun lyrics and a cool beat,
5. Ooh Boy,
Raven is far too little to sing about crushes and who by the way told Raven to sing this song? I mean seven is way too young to have a crush,
6. Fun Tonight,
This cute song is very cool and has a hip-hop sort of beat,
7. Betcha Didn't know,
Another boring crush song and Raven was far too young to sing this song. Very nice beat though,
8. Raven's lullaby,
This half rapping half singing song is very neat and very cute,
9. Here's to new dreams,
The title track in which Raven tells us some helpful advice about not giving up when you can't try and reaching for the stars,
10. That's what little girls are made of {Dub Mix},
The Same version of track 1 but why call it a dub mix?,
why this album is out of print is beyond me and because of now 16 year old Raven's popular That's So Raven Disney series this album should be rereleased again so that Raven newbies can hear young Raven sing at seven years old and was on The Cosby Show. If you are looking for a clean fun hip-hop album for your kids to listen to make this the one
