5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, well-done port, May 21, 2000

Loki did an excellent job bringing the world of Heretic II to the Linux operating system. The graphics are beautiful and the game itself becomes engrossing after playing through a level or two. While there were some bugs and glitches present in the original release of the game, these have been resolved in a patch one can download from Loki's web site. I'd highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a first-person adventure game (kind of a Tomb Raider in a fantasy setting, although it uses the Quake II 3D engine) to play on their Linux box.

4.0 out of 5 stars Addictive, August 6, 2000

This review is from: Heretic 2 (CD-ROM)
Gameplay is smooth with X4.01 and Nvidia's 94 linux drivers. Gameplay became addictive during a rainy weekend. There was some crash issues though. Be sure to download the new patch at [the website].

This review is from: Heretic 2 (CD-ROM)
This game is phenominal, you'll love it! Yes it will install AND run perfectly under Linux. All you need to do is read and follow the tutorial on installing and running it at http://www.freelink.cx (click on "Resurrecting Heretic II"). It takes about 10 minutes tops. Seriously it works fine.

Cheers!
