4.0 out of 5 stars Bread storage keeper
I bought this product mostly because it looked like my other kitchen storage, Biokips, a brand that has been discontinued at the Container Store. I will say that I love this container. I have started making homemade bread and they keep very well in this box. (I make two one-pound loaves and they fit in this box with some room to spare.) In addition, the box is big...

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work for bread machine loaves
I was really trying to find a quality container to store loaves made from my bread machine and this one seemed like it may work. The container is great, however, it is not high enough to hold a 2 pound loaf. Too bad, because it would have been ideal had it been large enough. Needs to be an inch or so higher. Product dimension say it is 10.5"H which seemed super large...

I bought this product mostly because it looked like my other kitchen storage, Biokips, a brand that has been discontinued at the Container Store. I will say that I love this container. I have started making homemade bread and they keep very well in this box. (I make two one-pound loaves and they fit in this box with some room to spare.) In addition, the box is big enough for a full loaf of store bought bread, and there is a divider if you want to separate white and wheat. I don't worry about my bread drying out too quickly or mold growing on it. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is due to the fact that sometimes it is hard to align the top to lock it in place. I would say that it happens about 30% of the time, and it never takes me longer than 30 seconds to get it on. Just a little nitpick...

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product but not as the product description said, November 19, 2010

I wrote another review on a container pointing out the discrepancy between the dimensions stated in the product description and what the product's dimensions actually were. I received two containers today and the dimensions given in the product descriptions on both products were wrong. The product description for this bread container states that the dimensions are 15.5 x 12.8 x 10.8 inches. I have the container in my lap and my tape measure in hand. The measurements I get, including clasps, are 15.5 inches long, 6 inches wide and 5 inches deep. I like and want more of these containers but I can't be sure I will be getting what I want based on the dimensions given in the product descriptions. So far Amazon is two for two against me getting accurate information.

The Lock & Lock bread container is great. I have a loaf of bread that has been in it for at least 2 weeks and is as fresh as the day I bought it. Well worth the money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great For Store Loaves, December 5, 2009

I love Lock & Lock products, and this works great for my store sliced loaves of bread (sandwich bread). I couldn't keep a loaf for more than a few days without it getting moldy. Perhaps it is the high humidity here in FL. I didn't want to freeze the bread, so when I saw the Lock & Lock bread container, I was more than willing to try it. I'm glad I did! Typical of the products it has a rubber seal all around to help keep it airtight. It also has a plastic divider that helps to separate different breads (I've put other products like tortillas on the other side). This is an awesome, worthwhile bread box to purchase and I have no complaints!

The Lock and Lock containers are fantastic but the size listed here on Amazon is totally incorrect.
Amazon lists: "Product Dimensions: 15.5 x 12.8 x 10.8 inches".
The actual containers I received are 15 x 5 x 5 inches, totally wrong for what I bought them for.
Going to be sending both containers back for a refund due to this incorrect listing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps bread fresh for a week or more, June 21, 2009

I had been searching for a good storage solution for my homemade bread (both ABM and manual) and I found it in this product. I had not been making bread as often as I should have because I couldn't find a decent storage solution.

Pros:
- keeps homemade bread fresh for a week or more
- easy to clean
- inexpensive
- air-tight
- fits a lot of bread or baked goods in it because of its length

Cons:
- height could be taller (will fit a 1.5 lb ABM loaf with a little squishing but too short for a 2 lb ABM loaf)

All in all, I love this product and am making bread regularly now instead of spending an insane amount of money on fancy bread from the health food store.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest thing since sliced bread, April 24, 2009
This review is from: Heritage Mint HPL849P Lock & Lock Storage 21.1 Cup Bread Container (Kitchen)
This Lock & Lock container does a perfect job of keeping my bread fresh for a week or more. I also use one of the tall ones for artisan breads which I keep out on the counter. You can't beat these storage containers. I have a lot of them in all sizes and use them for pantry storage of everything from cereal and snack crackers to flour, sugar and coffee. I also have a bunch of different sizes for leftovers. They are airtight and food lasts a really long time. They don't absorb odors or food particles and are easy to clean. The nice thing is that you can store them on their sides or upside-down, even with liquids in them and they never leak which is great if you have a frig that never seems to have enough space, like mine. I use them to mix salad dressings because they are so leak proof. They're also freezer safe and you can microwave in them.

The only time I've ever damaged one was when I dropped one containing blueberries that I took out of the freezer and dropped it on a ceramic tile floor. None of the other ones have ever been damaged and go microwave to freezer with no problem.

4.0 out of 5 stars LOCK & LOCK ROCKS but...., March 8, 2010

This review is from: Heritage Mint HPL849P Lock & Lock Storage 21.1 Cup Bread Container (Kitchen)
Every L&L I've bought has been absolutely the best storage ontainers evr...but this one is a problem. It fits the perfect basic loaf but is not wide enough for Peppridge Farm or any other wider, higwerquality loaves of bread. Very skinny - fits a regular loaf nice and tight, all other have to be squeezed and squished to fit.

However, I never bought it to make the bread last longer, just stay a bit fresher and be stackable. I have not thown away a single loaf since I bought this - two weeks is no exageration, and they don't get "damp" or change from air etc. Ziplocs, foil, nothing keep bread like this without it changing the consisteny eventually. I still don't get it and it was a bonus I did not expect. The first two time, I had a few pieces left and put bread on the grogery list figuring they were going in the "bird" food (I crumble slightly stale bread for the birds as a treat in the yard). But to my amazement, they were fresh as day 1. Now I know to check the bread and not buy anymore because it's likely still good until it's gone.
