4.0 out of 5 stars A recount of Pentangle Past..., July 3, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Heritage (Audio CD)
This is a CD that spans the early and most creative years of the Pentangle. You have the inspired "Light Flight" and "Sally go round the Roses". The Jazz influenced "Bells" and "Let no man steal your thyme" are still great to listen to, and keep in mind that since the first CD titled "The Pentangle" is not currently available, this is on CD you can get the rare song. Pentangle's blusey influnences can be found in "Good-by Pork-pie hat, and the (Borrowed) I've got a feeling. This CD also has folk songs that are not as strong as some of the other recordings on the CD, but still worth listening too. It's good to hear these old recordings again on remastered CD's and this is a great opportunity for more recent listeners of Pentangle music to hear what they sounded like in their most progressive and creative period as a band.
