In turn, pure acetone does the opposite; its great at removing nail polish but its extremely drying to the nails & cuticles.

I primarily use this in a mouthwash recipe and a muscle-rub recipe-- so far.

I was looking for a food grade vegetable glycerin and found this product. I use the VG in my cartomizers for my electronic cigarette. It produces a vapor that is inhaled. This VG works perfect and was great buy.

I first bought this product at my local natural food store; I wanted a vegetable based glycerin to use in lotions, and cosmetics that I enjoy making myself. I didn't want regular drug store variety glycerin because wanted the glycerin to be a food grade glycerin, and this product is just that. Food grade glycerin is important to me for several reasons; one reason is if I should put a small amount in lip balms, I want to be able to lick my lips and not ingest toxic petroleum based chemicals. I can also use it for dry mouth; it has a light sweet taste, and after I brush my teeth, my mouth dries out so this really helps with that. Some people use it as a sweetener, I haven't tried that yet, but it is sweet, I don't see why that wouldn't work. I find the price to be reasonable through Amazon, better than the natural food store price. So if you like to make your own cosmetics in a more natural way, as I do, this is a staple for that.

I bought this product after reading reviews about vegetable glycerine for natural hair care. I also happen to have eczema lately, my regular facial moisturizer hasn't been enough to combat dryness. I started adding a drop of this to the dime-sized amount of moisturizer I normally use and voila! It worked like a charm. I am not sure I would use it during the warmer months but in the winter when dry skin is a big problem, this was a lifesaver.

My new growth has never been this manageable. I am a natural and my only complaint about being natural is the new growth is so horrible my beautiful 4b curls was sitting on naps but then I got introduced to GLYCERIN!!!!! I just add it to the rest of my daily stuff in my spray bottle and my hair has never had this much shine bounce softness and it's immediate. Love at first use!!!

This stuff is surprisingly hard to find locally. Wal-Mart usually has it in smaller sizes but has been sold out lately. The Walgreens say it's special order only. I'm vaguely aware of the medicinal use but I but it for camping and hiking. A few drops of glycerin into a TBSP of potassium permanganate and you have a fierce, hot flame that wind and water won't put out. For that purpose a pint is nearly a lifetime supply but it's still cheaper than buying 5 x 2oz bottles locally. When I can find it at all.

As of this date, the label on Essential Depot's vegetable glycerin doesn't state it is suitable for e-cigarettes (unlike their propylene glycol label). I thought I'd give their VG a shot anyway. This VG is way too thick. I have used many brands over the years, so its thickness was unexpected. If you don't cut this VG with propylene glycol (or whatever you cut with) it will be unusable. It definitely will not reach your heating element on its own (and if it does it will clog it up and cook there leaving a heavy residue). The viscosity of this glycerin is exactly like corn syrup. If you're not sure how thick corn syrup is, it's thicker than your average pancake syrup. I was buying VG from Totally Wicked that has a consistency closer to PG, and I didn't need to cut their VG with as much PG as I do this brand. I use approximately 25% more PG than I used to. On a more positive note, this VG is super, super pure. I haven't had any reactions (sinus problems, etc.) since I started using it in mid-January, and I vape all day. I give it 4 stars for that (and the fact that they never did say it was suitable for e-cigarettes anyway).

I also bought Essential Depot's PG, and its consistency and purity is perfect for vaping. It can be found here: Propylene Glycol 1 Pint.

I use vegetable glycerin in my protein drinks to sweeten them a bit I use unsweetened soy milk and no fruit because I have to be careful about how much sugar I consume. It is the best tasting for that purpose.
