Not bad ...for a Text Book
As most Text books go this one was fairly interesting and held my attention. The pictures were very good and I liked the flow of the content. Not worth the price, but I have yet to find a Text Book that is. Not fabulous but not bad....I may even keep it.

Written by scholars for scholars not typical students
Very difficult to read and distinguish key topics. Assumes the reader is a history major.

Nice combined edition of a great text. Well organized at front and summary of chapters. Most of the previous edition's documents that were on an additional data CD are now incorporated in the text. Stories augment the historical narrative as history comes alive. Author seems balanced and fair in presenting historical perspective.
