Highly recommended reading for students of literary history,

This review is from: Herman Melville (Bloom's Modern Critical Views) (Hardcover)
The great artists of the world commonly go unnoticed during their lifetimes. "Herman Melville" looks at the work of the great author, much ignored during his time. Moby Dick being one of the great American novels was not a best seller when it was first available, despite its place in modern school curriculums. With a wide examination of all of his work the Bloom Modern Critical Views book on "Herman Melville" is highly recommended reading for students of literary history.
