More About the Author

Eugene Stelzig was born in Austria and educated there and in France before coming permanently to the U.S. in 1961. He has taught in the English Department at SUNY Geneseo since 1972. In addition to many academic articles on Romantic literature and autobiography, he has published books on Wordsworth (1975), Hermann Hesse (1988), Rousseau and Goethe (2000), and has an edited collection on Romantic Autobiography in England (2009) and a book on "Henry Crabb Robinson in Germany, 1800-1805" forthcoming in 2010. He has also published "Fool's Gold: Selected Poems of a Decade" (2008) and translations of German poetry as well as several autobiographical essays.
