An interesting and informative book, December 20, 2011
This review is from: Hermann Oberth: The Father of Space Flight 1894-1989 (Paperback)
Ever since I became interested in the man, after seeing a movie that made mention of him, I've tried finding information on Dr. Hermann Oberth in libraries and online. It's hard to find anything but a brief mention of him in library books, I see the same (and slightly confusing) information on almost every website, and it's pretty much impossible to find more than two or three images of him.
This book costs too much (especially since it's so much more than the original price), but it actually tells something about the man, and has a few photos of him and his family in the back of the book (I haven't seen any images of his family besides in this book). Most of the questions I had about him are answered in the book, and I find the book to be written pretty well (it doesn't seem boring, and has some interesting stories).
There was no image of the book, even when I tried searching for it off Amazon. Pretty much all I could find was the title, and the very brief description here. I finally decided that I just had to know what was in this mystery book, and I'm glad I bought it, even though it was a bit costly. The book is only 250 pages long, kind'a novel-sized, so don't expect it to be like a huge dictionary of information, but the amount of detail is great compared to other things I've seen about him, and it should satisfy curiosity.
