These Jigsaw Jones books are wonderful!! They're really written on a kid's level ..... the tone and choice of words the kids use to converse to each other is so right...so 90's...so hip. My boys really gets into it, waiting for the next clue to solve the mystery. The books are wonderful for beginner readers; it holds their interest and encourages a love for reading. I can't wait for the next book to come out! We've checked out other books such as Magic Tree House which are good, but Jigsaw Jones books are unbelievable!! I was so excited to find this series and wanted to share it with other families.

I would like to write areview of a book called The Case of the Missing Hamster. I like to read all kinds of mystery books. This is a book from the series Jigsaw Jones. I liked it because it talked about ways to figure out things. For one, a girl uses her senses because she was allergic to animal fur. I recommend the book to mystery fans. The series includes The Case of The Runaway Dog, The Case of the Secret Valentine, The Case of The Missing Hamster, The Case of The Christmas Snowman, The Case of the Spooky Sleepover, The case of the Stolen Baseball Cards, The case of the Mummy Mystery, and coming soon, The case of the Great Sled Race. Go to your local library and check out one of these books!

I would like to commend the author on this book. My 8 yr. old son loves this one. It especially hit home for him because he has big ears. He gets teased all the time and so he feel in love with the character " Wingnut " . Thank you for helping my son feel special. I would love to see the character " Wingnut " used in more of these Jigsaw Jones books.

Jigsaw Jones: Case of Hermie the Missing Hamster is a detective novel featuring a wise-cracking PI who also happens to be in the second grade and have his office in a treehouse.

The most reluctant reader will become a dedicated fan of this book, turning the pages for one laugh after another until the satisfying conclusion.

This is a great book with some cute illustrations and it is most definitely not to be missed! Parents, buy this book for your child, and you will have a reader for life.

I am so excited to find this series. My first grader loves mysteries, and these are well written. They are challenging enough, not intimidating with the print size, and have great pictures. Those are things that will capture his interest in the first place. They really do sound like a kid is talking. I think the thing I like the most is the choice of words that are used to describe coversations. Most of the books written for this age are "said," "asked," and rarely, things like "replied." This author uses much more interesting, descriptive words. I know that sounds trivial, but as an avid reader who hopes my son will continue to love reading as well, it's refreshing to see someone who takes time to pay attention to the choice of words that show how someone is talking, not just what they said.

I am 8 years old and I liked this book because it was a good mystery and I liked the people in it. It was easy for me to understand and I looked forward to reading it.

Great series and a wonderful read for youngsters. Amazon always provides the best selection and the best prices. It is a favortie site for my family for gifts and for our personal library.

I purchased this for my Grandson, he really enjoys this series. I have never read these books personally, so I must go with his opinion.

Synopsis: One day, Wingnut O'Brien, Jisgaw's next door neighbor comes to see Jigsaw to solve a case for him. He tells Jigsaw that Hermie, Wingnut's golden hamster is missing. Wingnut tells Jigsaw that he last saw Hermie in his cage with Sammy (his other hamster) the day before in the morning. Wingnut tells Jigsaw about his brother Jake the Snake, because he is obsessed with snakes, and has a pet snake as well. They realize that snakes like eating hamsters, and Jigsaw feels that Jake's snake could have eaten Hermie!

Jigsaw and Mila (his friend) decide to investigate the case by going to the pet store and reading more about snakes. As they continue figuring out what happened to Hermie, more clues turn up, which makes Jigsaw wonder if Jake's snake did eat Hermie. Can Jigsaw solve the case successfully and return Hermie back to Wingnut?

Review: I thought this was a good start to the "Jigsaw Jones Mystery" series. The story is very nicely written, and it had some twists to it that made me wonder what happened to Hermie.

The author provides educational information about snakes, teaches younger readers how to use the phone book, and adds puzzles (such as substitution codes) that make the reader also want to solve with Jigsaw. He also adds good humor at times, like when Jigsaw suddenly throws up on Jake's sneakers. The illustrations are beautifully drawn by R. W. Alley, and I especially enjoyed the illustrations of Jigsaw being in the pet store staring at the snakes.

Overall, if you want to know what the Jigsaw Jones series is about, this is a good place to start.

Jigsaw Jones was trying to find a missing hamster. I liked this book. I don't have a favorite part because I liked the whole thing! You should read this book, too.
