From the Inside Flap

The hermit who lived in the wilderness of Hart's Hollow was a mystery to the locals and they were content to leave it that way. That is, until reporter Mitch (Michelle) Wallace arrives. With dogged determination, Mitch sets out to uncover the secrets of his past.

Recently betrayed by her man, Mitch has hardened her heart against ever finding love. But as she unravels the truth about the hermit, she finds herself falling under the spell of winter in this pristine country and discovering, for the first time, the true meaning of love.

About the Author

Gail Macmillan always wanted to be an author. She was thirty years old when her first novel was published by Avalon in 1974. Since then she has gone on to write a variety of stories and articles for magazines in Canada and the United States, and two books on her favorite dog, the Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever. For a 1992 article on this breed, Gail was awarded a Maxwell Medal in New York by the Dog Writers' Association of America for the best article in a canine magazine or newspaper. Gail's other interests include reading, horses, and canoeing. She currently lives in Bathurst, New Brunswick, with her husband, Ron, and three dogs - a sheltie mix, and of course, a pair of Nova Scotia duck tolling retrievers. The Hermit of Harts Hollow is her seventh romance for Avalon.
