I find it amusing that most people state they don't like Mariah Carey, but like her song 'Hero." What is it people don't like, her image? Her singing style? I believe it was this hit single "Hero" which captured people's attention and held the lyrics a place in their hearts. These lyrics which Mariah wrote herself (yes, she does write her own songs) are incredible. There just isn't enough talent out nowadays to surpass this incredible single. It also became more popular last year because of 9/11/2001 (eat ur heart out enrique!)... I reccomend this single to anyone who is a fan of TRUE music, because "Hero" is meaningful enough to please even the most casual of Mariah Carey listeners. Believe me, 'Hero" is one of the 10 best songs ever written and will go down in history. Her vocal quality is at her best and she doesn't overuse her voice in this one like on some other songs (IE: Emotions). This single recieves an A+ for me and is for all Mariah and non Mariah fans alike!!

Not only does this have the great single, "Hero," but a live version of the song, and one of Mariah's best songs ever, "Everything Fades Away" and it's only available on this single. I promise you, the song is amazing! If this wasn't enough, there's also the best remix of "Dreamlover" on here too. All of the ones on the maxi single are boring, but the Club Joint Mix rules. BUY THIS WHILE YOU STILL HAVE THE CHANCE!

1. The LP version of hero, its a very good and inspirational song.
2. A live version of hero, I like it better than the original, she sings it just enough to make it sound different, still great.
3. Everything Fades Away, GREAT track. I suggest you buy it for this song, its the only place you can get it.
4. Dreamlover (club joint Mix) Its the best remix of this song that she has. She re-recorded it to a faster beat. Great track, this CD is highly recommended.

Hero(Album Version)-An excellent song that will go into history forever!

Hero(Live Version)-I Was A Bit Dissapointed with this track. It sounds like the album version and some audience noises added. Not like a real live performance. But The Bridge is a bit different. But totally differnt from how she sings it live nowadays.

Everything Fades Away - Oh my God! This is the reason i bought the cd! This is such a great song! It's much better than some songs on Music Box! It even has A little solo by Cory Rooney!

Dreamlover(Club Joint Mix)-Possibly the best Dreamlover Remix! Its very refreshing from the Def Remixes on the Maxi-Single!

Overall, they should have added at least one more song. And if u already have an albumn with hero you don't need the live version. But Evertytrhing Fades Away and the Dreamlover(Club Joint Mix) make up for it.

I love Mariah Carey and all her albulms. I just bought her new album "# 1." Gosh it's a great album and I love the song "I Still Believe," because I just can't get enough of Mariah's beautiful voice. I wish I could have her voice but too bad I don't. Mariah Carey is one of the best singers in the world and everyone should know that. I really think that everyone should buy her new album {# 1} because it has all of the good songs plus 3 new ones that I know will be at the #1 chart. If you people out there wanna support M.C. then now is your chance to do so. I have everyone of her albums and they are all great. Just to let you know, you should too. M.C. really is a great singer because her songs are inspiring and the lyrics are just so nice. My all time favorite song of M.C.'s is the song "Hero." It's the best cause it inspired me so much!! I'll always love Mariah Carey because she is the best singer there will ever be!!!!!!! Keep listening to Mariah and you'll know what I am talking about. So long for now!! P.S. M.C. This is one of Mariah Carey's most popular song and one of the 90's most legenday song! This single includes an outstanding live performane of "Hero" which shows off Mariah's talent at singing her songs at perfect pitch. The third track "Everything Fades Away" is awesome, one of the best unreleased songs by Mariah Carey. The last track is a funky remix of her other #1 single "Dreamlover". All the songs are incredible! No wonder why this single sold one million copies!

Mariah Carey has the most beautiful, powerful, breathtaking, soaringly 7 octave voice in the world, she is my favorite singer of all time and Hero is my favorite song of all time!!

I remember back in 1993, I was waiting for my mother, while sitting in the car, I was just changing stations on the radio and I heard the DJ say that this was the newest song from Mariah Carey called Hero and I was totally blown away!!! Even before I got the CD of Music Box, I heard this song and I just totally loved it that instant. For months I heard the song on the radio, saw the video for Hero on VH1 and MTV, even after a few years, I still heard the song and saw the video and NEVER once, have I ever gotten bored with it!! Many people have said that this song was overplayed but not to me, to me, every time I heard it, I loved it more and more and it's now my all time favorite song in the world and favorite Mariah song!!

It's such an incredible song lyrically, musically, and especially vocally!!! I love the Live version even more because Mariah sings just a tad bit more live than in the studio, she added more vocals. This song actually has gotten me through a lot of obstacles in my life with the powerful message!! I love the part in Hero (Live Version) that goes: "Lord Knows, Dreams Are Hard To Follow, But Don't Let Anyone Tear Them Away, Just Hold On, There Will Be Tomorrow, And In Time You'll Find The Way."

When I did get this CD single in 1994, I was again blown away by Mariah's voice in Everything Fades Away!!! Another Mariah masterpiece lyrically, musically and vocally!! Everything about this song is incredible! Such a beautiful, powerful, emotional ballad, I love it!!!

Dreamlover (Club Joint Mix) is a cool remix that has this funk sound to it. It's pretty cool, Mariah's voice sounds amazing but my favorite version is the Music Box version.

And to everyone who thinks only men can be Heros, a woman can be a hero! I am a female and I never once felt offended because I know Mariah meant this song to be for men and women!

This in my opinion is Mariah Carey's signature song, her career song. Never have I heard such an uplifting beautiful song that expresses so many fears and emotions, and believing in yourself to see the true hero, as she sings in this song. It is touching, it gets you right in the heart every time you hear it. It gives you faith and makes you believe that you are a worthwhile person who can change the world in your own little way. This is a must have for all people, to hear great music and just to hear when you are in doubt of yourself, it will heal you.

I bought this cd single because of the song "Everything fades away". It was only released in Europe, which I never understood because it is one of the most beautiful songs Mariah has ever written. After all these years I still listen to it. I hope that sometime in the future she releases an album of all her B-sides. This is my favorite one by far.

This cd has the lp and the live version of "Hero", it also has the great ballad "Everything fades away" which can't be found on the lp. And it has the remix of "dreamlover" which is one of the reasons I bought this cd. the remix has a kind of hip hop beat.
