Book Description

July 1, 1999 Tales of the Fifth Age
Heroes and Fools

A submarine trip to an island of ghosts. A band of fugitive actors. A deadly draconian who has had too much holiday punch. And veritable onslaught of dryads, shadow wights, and that rarest of all monsters, the dread forest boojum.

Also, from the team of Margaret Weis and Don Perrin, the latest adventure of Kang and his wayward troop of draconians.

In the proud tradition of the best-selling Dragonlance anthologies, Heroes and Fools promises a sometimes heroic -- sometimes foolish -- visit to the world of Krynn.

More About the Author

`Dragonlance' originators Tracy and Laura Hickman have been publishing game designs and stories together for over thirty-two years - nearly as long as their marriage - and thus started them both on a life of adventure and imagination.

Tracy is a NYT Best-Selling co-author (with Margaret Weis) of many Dragonlance novels including the original `Dragonlance Chronicles', `Dragonlance Legends', `Rose of the Prophet" and "Darksword" trilogies as well as the seven-book "Deathgate Cycle".

Tracy and Laura are remembered together for their role-playing game designs in `Dragonlance' and the `Oasis of the White Palm' series but are perhaps best known for their classic adventure, the original `Ravenloft.'

Life now has provided them the opportunity to fulfill a dream: to write novels together. Tracy and Laura work from adjoining offices in their home and answer questions on their work through their website at www.trhickman.com.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all, September 12, 2000

I really enjoyed this book. Most of the stories were good, but some were horribly average. My favorite was "Gone". The suspence was terrific and I loved every moment exept for the sudden end. Overall it was a very good book envolving mainly kender and knights. It was well worth the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Half of it was ok..., August 16, 1999

This review is from: Heroes and Fools (Dragonlance Tales of the Fifth Age, Vol. 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Well I almost wanted to get my money back after reading the first few stories, they were not well written nor were they consistent with "the world of krynn". It seemed like they took place on another world...these newer lance authors shouldnt have such freedom to go and create races or things, the story "Boojum Boojum" illustrates my point quite well. Other than the above; the stories by the "real" lance authors made up for the beginning. Get it only if you want hear more about the 5th Age...

4.0 out of 5 stars Most of the Stories are Excellent., January 9, 2002
This review is from: Heroes and Fools (Dragonlance Tales of the Fifth Age, Vol. 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
If you pick this up, do not just judge the breadth of the novel by the first story or two. "Boojum, Boojum," the first short story, is pretty horribly written. But most of the rest of the stories are excellent, especially "Much Ado About Magic" and "To Convince the Righteous of the Right." If you are interested in the wheelings and dealings of the DragonLance fifth age, without becoming too bogged down by the main storylines, than this would be a perfect book for you.
