Heroes of the Heartland is a simple tribute to our fathers and grandfathers. Long ago it was them who kept liberty alive. Still they offer us strength with their stories of loyalty, sacrifice and valor.

I really enjoyed this book and not only because my grandfather's story is one mentioned in the book. It was inspiring to hear the stories of these wonderful heroes who put their lives on the line for others. As the people from WWII start passing away, we will lose this history if people like Mr. Cunningham do not take the time to write the stories of these heroes. This book is definitely worth the read! I am reminded of what these people, and the many others like them, went through when I look up at the book sitting on my mantel and I see my grandfather's hand holding that purple heart. Thank you to all those who have served or are serving in our military. You are all true heroes!
