Michael J. Svigel grew up in Minnesota and came to Christ at the age of seventeen. He met his wife, Stephanie--a native of Germany--at Philadelphia Biblical University, where he graduated in 1996 before moving to Texas to attend Dallas Theological Seminary. He received his Th.M. (New Testament) in 2001 and his Ph.D. (Theological Studies) in 2008. Michael currently serves as Assistant Professor of Theological Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, where he teaches courses in both church history and systematic theology. As a scholar in evangelical theology and patristic studies, Michael regularly presents papers at conferences such as the Evangelical Theological Society, Society of Biblical Literature, and the Oxford Patristics Conference. He has published articles in various serials, including Bibliotheca Sacra, Trinity Journal, and Studia Patristica. Michael is a member, elder, and teacher at Scofield Memorial Church in Dallas, Texas, where he lives with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children, Sophie, Lucas, and Nathan.
