Product Description

Platform: Nintendo NES

If you love Dungeons & Dragons, then you're in for a treat. Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of Lance has all the rold playing a D&D fan could want, and this is your chance to play it on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)! The game is played from a side-scrolling perspective. You assemble eight heroes to go on a quest to recover the Disks of Mishakal. When one hero falls, the next in line appears on screen to take its place. This game is for hardcore RPG fans, so be warned that the difficulty is pretty intense! The heroes include Goldmoon the Princess, Caramon Majere the warrior, and Flint Fireforge the dwarf. D&D fans will appreciate these charming characters, as well as the enemies they will face. If you love RPG's, then what are you waiting for?

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad, March 22, 2009

It's playable, but only just. Let me see...The graphics are blocky and terrible, the controls stink, and a menu needlessly takes up half the screen. It's impossible to jump holes with any character but Raistlin, and Goldmoon, a female character, even gives the same grunt as the males when she is hurt. Characters not in battle still take damage. The doors don't line up with one another or with the compass, so map-making is nearly impossible.

The fantasy party of adventurers is pretty cool, and you'll probably still enjoy this one if you've read the book. Otherwise, it's a real stinker.

Not even sure if I spelled that right. I love the novels and I used to play the actual game in AD&D. This game is rather difficult. I never figured out how to play the damn thing. I think I got to the second screen. Not sure anyone has ever passed it. Still it brings back great memories of my youth and frustration.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hands down- worst game ever, January 11, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Heroes of the Lance (Video Game)
I know this game was on the weak NES, but so far nothing I've ever played has come close to being worse than this. This is easily the most pathetic game ever made. Basically, you have 8 pitiful-looking fantasy people, like a theif, an elf, a fighter, blah blah blah, and you must run around in a "dungeon" that consists of the same one room every time. You cannot fight enemies and cannot jump, and holes are everywhere, so all you can do is walk (extremely slowly) around until all your "men" have fallen into holes, died because they can't fight the monsters, or until you pass out from the pain of playing this.
