This turn-based game is addictive with stay up-all-night qualities were you build towns, raise armies, cast spells, and conquer foes. At the heart of the game are the heroes and there are more than 100 individual, pre-packaged heroes, each with their own names, portraits and special abilities. Heroes can be 1 of 16 different types of classes which ranges from the normal Humans, Elves and Dwarves to Demons, Vampires and Efreeti. Each of the 8 town types have 2 character classes associated with it, generally mage type or warrior type. Missions can be self-contained single scenarios, linked together into multi-sceanrio campaigns, or played as a multiplayer scenarios against other human players across a network. As many as 8 players can compete or team up via hot seat, LAN, modem, or the Internet and the random map generator lets you create unlimited battle scenarios. Create your own unique battles with a fully functional campaign generator and a map editor, ensuring customization for infinite replayability. The multiplayer gaming features have been improved with more options for socializing with other players and more for the player to do in the game when it's not your turn. The graphics are probably the best in any turn-based strategy game to date.
