Editorial Reviews

Steve Zetro Souza has once again stepped into the thrash metal world, and has made an immediate impact on the thrash metal scene. The veteran metal singer, from such proven bands as Exodus, Legacy (Testament), Dublin Death Patrol, Tenet, AC/DZ, and now Hatriot, takes his musical roots back in time to the 1980 s when metal was fast, furious, and yet still melodic. Still from the Bay Area (which happens to be the evolutionary birthplace of thrash metal) is what sets Hatriot apart from today s metal world. Already the band has earned worldwide respect having supported Testament and Forbidden.

Glad to hear Souza screaming again. He has an excellent thrash voice. This is a great slab of classic Bay Area thrash. Get it, play it loud & wreck your neck.

Old School Thrash with some modern Death Metal undertones ... These guys are not a fad! Check 'em out! Souza and company deliver and crush all unbelievers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real thrash is back February 8, 2013

Steve Souza sounds better than ever, and this one's heavy as Hell. This Album buries Exodus anything, except for Bonded By Blood.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best of 2013 is here April 11, 2013
By Luiz
Format:Audio CD
Holy s***! I have a friend that owns a local music store, and he was playing at the store this bad ass metal song with Zetro's unique voice. He told me it was "this new band from the US, called HATRIOT, it's Zetro's new band with his kids"

I had an eargasm the first time I listened the CD in my big-ass stereo in my room. This album is very good! It's Thrash, but there's something more, all I know is that this is KILLER! They are DEFINITELY NOT "trying too hard", you can see that the musicians LOVE playing metal. One of the best records of 2013 for sure!

The first time I heard about this band was back in 2011 when a friend recorded for me a CD with some b-sides & rarities from Exodus and them he told me the first song was a demo from Zetro's new band.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zetro is back February 7, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
If you like good old Thrash this is for you. Souza sounds as intense as ever and the music is pretty relentless. I was skeptical at first because his two kids are in drum and bass but after sampling Suicide Run I was hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Notify your next of kin, You're about to be destroyed. February 26, 2013

Make no mistake, Hatriot's Heroes of Origin exceeds the hype. This album picks up right where Fabulous Disaster left off. It sounds almost like it came out of a 1986 time capsule, but with improved production! Pure thrash at it's best, as this young songwriting crew just shred from beginning to end. Steve Zetro Sousa hasn't skipped a beat either. In fact, he sounds better than ever here. Heroes of Origin is hard-pressed to be beaten for album of the year. Having been listening to this non-stop since I received it, there is no letting up! The solos are killer and the riffs come at you like an onslaught. If you are dead, this will raise you from the grave!

As far as an Exodus comparison, yes it sounds exactly like vintage Exodus. Have you pounded the "add to cart" button yet?!

My Thoughts; Hatriot Is What Exodus Should Sound Like IMO, It Should of Been The Natural Progression of Exodus, It Would Of Been A Brilliant Album, After Fabulous Disaster, Cause I Can't Stand Force of Habit.....Wow Zetro Had These Kids Write a Thrash Album That Matches The Likes of The Mighty Exodus.... The Only Thing Hatriot Is Missing Is Gary's Stylish Leads & Bar, & Toms Signature Left Handed Rolls.....But Since You Don't Have That, The Music Is Still Far Superior To a Zetroless Exodus......Wow Zetro & Kosta, And His Boys Really Did It! But One Thing Exodus Has Is The Status, And Name, Its a Trademark of Thrash, Can Hatriot Ever Match Them? In Music Yes, But Stature Maybe No. Sad, But You Do Get Two Great Thrash Bands Now, Instead of Just One! Hartiot Can Only Go Up, These Kids Are Young, And Have Not even Fully Matured Musically Yet. And With Steve At The Helm, They Will Not Disappoint, Nor Deviate Off Thrash Course, The Hatriot Formula Is Modern Metal Meets Old School Thrash Metal, With a Splash Of Melodic Death Metal Thrown In, This Keeps Them From Being Dated, And Predicable, And These Young Men Can Play, Just As Well As The Old Veterans Of This Genre, Zetro's Vocals Are Still As Classic And Aggressive As With Anything He Sings On, His Voice Range Still Has The Highs, Twisted Lyric's, And The Guttural Growls, As He Did In His Youth, How Many Frontman In Metal, Have Lost That, Toooo Many, How Many Singers Nowadays, Don't Sing, But Bark Only, Well Souza Has The Whole Package Down, And The Stage Presence To Go With It. His Young Band Plays With An Energy That Veteran Thrash Bands Lost In The 80's, These kids Are Hungry, And Explosive, And Have written the Music To Back It Up! They Don't Stand Still And Just Play. I'll Say To You One Thing Thats Straight Up, And Will Make You Run Out And Bye This.....Hatriot Sounds More Like Exodus, Than Exodus Does Today!.....New Hatriot Rates 5 Stars In My Book!
