5.0 out of 5 stars pop-up fun
Young Star Wars readers will adore "Heroes." The book introduces some of the good guys in the CGI Clone Wars TV show. 3.0 out of 5 stars Heroes: A Pop-up Storybook (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
One of the nicest aspects of this Pop-Up book of Star Wars Heroes is the emphasis on the GOOD guys. Animation of the figures is well done. The stock used is sturdy, which means the book will stand up to the sort of use it will get from children. I purchased the book, not for my now-grown-up-kids, but for my own collection, and I was disappointed with the comic-book style...

5.0 out of 5 stars pop-up fun, November 11, 2009
This review is from: Heroes: A Pop-up Storybook (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) (Hardcover)
Young Star Wars readers will adore "Heroes." The book introduces some of the good guys in the CGI Clone Wars TV show. "Heroes" features Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex. Each page features a mini write-up on the character. A few comic book style panels show scenes of that character in the TV show. Some pages have an additional pop-up character. These somewhat hidden pop-ups include Kit Fisto, C-3PO and Commander Cody. Employing the most modern techniques for these sorts of books, the pop-ups are stunning. While opening, the characters often seem to jump into their pose. Moving the pages up and down, the figures seem to move naturally. The moving parts seem sturdy enough, so the book should get some good use before inevitably falling apart. The title is a nice accompaniment to "A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy" and it makes readers anticipate the release of a corresponding "Villains." Delight any padawan reader with "Heroes."

I go this book for my 5 yr old who is just starting to get into Star Wars. The book is a great companion, explaining who the characters are. The pop ups are awesome and very nicely made. All around great book for the young Star Wars fan!

Son is an emerging reader, this book didn't intimidate him as a gift because there was so much to interact with in the pages. He could read what he wished or just turn the pages to see what would happen. He treasures this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Heroes: A Pop-up Storybook (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), June 11, 2011

One of the nicest aspects of this Pop-Up book of Star Wars Heroes is the emphasis on the GOOD guys. Animation of the figures is well done. I purchased the book, not for my now-grown-up-kids, but for my own collection, and I was disappointed with the comic-book style panels used to convey the story. The whole Star Wars phenomenon has such an iconic aspect in our society that I think it deserves more dignity than was given by the "comic" aspect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun!, April 28, 2011

My son (he's 2) loves this. I don't think he necessarily appreciates the finer details, but he likes that it has R2D2 (and a slew of other characters I didn't know existed). I like all the little nooks and crannies - it has pop-ups on every page but also several little "envelope" type things that also open and have pop-ups in them.

I love the artistry in a pop up book. My nephew loves Star Wars the clone Wars, so I bought this for his 5th birthday. He was a bit hesitant at first, thought pop up books "were for babies" but after we read thru it a couple of times, and discovered every secret compartment, he was a big fan!
