The Heroic Surgeon
Harlequin Medical Romance #230 - November 2005 Gulnar is a trauma nurse working in the Balkans for the Global Aid Organization. She dedicates herself to helping the casualties of war, never allowing herself to get emotionally involved. Having lost all whom she had loved, Gulnar can't risk her heart; until Dr. Dante Guerriero puts himself in harms way to save her and 100's of her countrymen. Together they make a doomed situation winnable. Dante's no hero, he's just a man with nothing else to lose and nothing more to give. Placing himself in danger has no consequence to him, as he doesn't have loved ones who worry over him. But Gulnar changes that, much to Dante's distress. Gulnar knows Dante will leave but she's willing to give everything for only moments spent with him. She'd vowed never to love again, only to realize that she never had truly loved until Dante. Ms. Gates has floored me again with this story packed with emotional intensity. Both Gulnar and Dante fight the scars of their pasts to find a future that neither ever dreamed they were worthy of. Amazing reading! |
