About the Author

Brian Moll is a writer living in Portland, Oregon by way of about half a dozen other places. He is the editor of Kindling, a flash-fiction magazine that isn't. If he were a superhero, he would probably be one of the more obscure ones. Like Shaq in Steel. He's a big fan of Shaq on and off the court.

This is a clever, quirky, dazzling compilation of short stories. I laughed out loud. I especially like the story by Glenn Y. "Sidekick Crisis" What creative character deveopment in about 6 pages! Need more of that.

This is not a bunch of ordinary predictable superhero stories. Written by various authors, each has its own style and uniqueness, and I liked some of them more than the other. The one stood out was the story called "Sidekick Crisis" by Glenn Yonezawa. It's pretty short but has a clever ending. I'd look for more stories or books written by him. I also liked the story "Feed the Mines" by Rebecca Gale. A little more serious side but well written and easy read.

The book is great to have around so I can read a story or two when I have a few moments to spare. Also it's a good way to sample various authors' writing styles.

All well written stories that feed the need of superhero junkies. But I didn't think they were "strange" or "absurd" - I actually purchased the compilation despite the weird name (I'm a superhero junky myself) and was pleasantly surprised.
