when I was in the Army. I enjoyed them back then, and really liked the way the author described the scenes. You would read what each character looked like, including what he was wearing, right down to his watch (a Rolex oyster perpetual day/date in one case) and because of this, I could easily imagine what each person looked like in my mind. Re-reading this series now though, is like taking a journey back in time to the early 1970's, filled with jive talking, bell bottom wearing, cool cats. Sounds kind of corny now, but it was cool back then. The series deals with the exploits of internal affairs cops working the mean streets of Detroit. Gritty, violent and full of danger, this series takes you right into the action with the tough cops chosen to weed out the criminals in their own ranks.
