4.0 out of 5 stars A nice read, August 5, 2007

This review is from: A Hero's Welcome (Regency Romance, No 151) (Paperback)
I will not repeat the scenario since previous reviewer has already described it, however, I did enjoy this book much better than the other reader. I think Ms. Stafford did a good job on showing Diana's sweet and caring personality without been too pretentious, I also applaud the fact that she also had a backbone and could stand up for herself when situation called for it, a very believable and likable character. Richard, on another hand, was not too well portrayed, his distrust and stubborn attitude towards Diana lingered a bit too long in the book, hence made the ending a little too hastily done for reader to enjoy. Other than that, I liked all the sub-characters, they were all well defined and received their appropriate share of recognition. I recommend this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK; Could have been better, April 3, 2005
This review is from: A Hero's Welcome (Regency Romance, No 151) (Paperback)
Lord Rossley saved Diana March from a watery death in the Thames. Too bad you heard so very little of that part of the story. That would have made the book interesting. What happened at that point -- what made him save her and make her the guardian of his child? Instead you just find out that perfect Diana has made his house a home and his child a wonderful mother. Now he has returned from war rather than dying and now what kind of a life will they have. Diana decides she loves him and sets out to make him notice and love her. Of course there is a happy ending but it was a little too cut and dried. The daugher "Melly" was a nice touch. Quick read --
