I grew up playing with colored blocks like this, so when I saw them at Amazon I bought them for my 2 year old. She LOVES them and is constantly finding new ways to play with them. However, I expected these blocks to be much larger than they are - they are very small. The square blocks are probably 1 inch and I expected something like 3 inches. Their small size makes them very lightweight, so that's good when the toddler decides to pitch them across the room, but they are just not as substantial as I expected, and they are very pricey considering that fact.
