No, really. This is the first set where you almost have to buy multiples to really get full advantage.

The Marro Drones are a common squad of 3 figures for 50 points but each time they move you roll the d20 and might actually get to move as many as 9 of them (if you have them). They have a 6 move, 1 range and 3 attack and defense. They're definitely a force to be reckoned with.

The Minions of Utrgar are also powerful but more expensive. They're 110 points for 3 figures. They move 4, attack 2, defend 6! and can fly (they are the first common flyer). They count all successful hits as doubles (so 1 skull = 2 damage) and they can give their move to any Kyrie warrior instead of themselves. Keep them near Taelord and you could have 3 attack with skulls counting double.

This is probably the most versatile set of Utgar's Rage and will definitely be very popular on battlefields everywhere.

If you play Heroscape then you will be pleased with both of the common squads included in this expansion set. Both sets of minitures are sculpted and painted reasonably well, with the Minions of Utgar looking particularly impressive. As far game mechanics go, both are sold units and definitely worth their points.
The Marro Drones are a fast moving melee unit with decent attack and defense dice. They really come into their own when you have two (I suggest at least three) or more squads on the board: their Hive Swarm power gives you the very real potential to overwhelm your opponent. And at 50 points a squad, you can easily field lots of them.
The Minions of Utgar are a powerful, hard hitting unit with high defense dice. And while they have the average speed of a heavily armored melee unit (Move 4), they have ability to fly. Their Utgar's Orders power, while for the most part forgettable, can be useful under the right circumstances.
All in all, this expansion set is an excellent edition to the game.

This is a great set of common squads. The Marro Drones, like the devourers (wolves) from Wolves and Minutemen of Utgar's Rage who increase the dice in their attack roll by rolling the D-20 before each turn, the Marro roll the D-20 before each turn to allow for swarming:

Roll: 1-12 = you may move and attack with up to 3 Marro Drones you control.

Roll: 13-16 = You may move and attack with up to 6 Marrow Drones you control.

Roll: 17-20 = You may move and attack with up to 9 Marrow Drones you control.

The Minions of Utgar are really the better of the two squads here. They have a turn-deferring option: can allow any Kyrie Warrior you control take their turn. They also have "Deadly Strike" which means all skulls (hits) rolled become 2. Plus they are flying. Add all of that to a character with a defense of 6 despite being a common squad, and you have a great army.

THIS is a great addition to any army, but clearly at a cost of 110 points, having two or even three squads would pack all the punch any army could ask for.

This expansion set makes an awesome addition to Heroscape. If you don't own any of the expansion sets you will be amazed at how they change the game dynamics. Highly recommend if you love Heroscape, these expansion sets take the game to a new level. Great for mature kids, teens and adults.
