Book Description

April 26, 2005
Everyone can use a daily wake-up call.

Now in bite-size mantras, the abridged empathetic wit and wisdom of the number one New York Times bestseller He's Just Not That Into You will recharge and inspire your dating outlook one wake-up call at a time.

For ages women have come together over coffee, cocktails, or late-night phone chats to analyze the puzzling behavior of men. Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo are here to say that -- despite good intentions -- you're wasting your time. Men are not complicated, although they'd like you to think they are. And there are no mixed messages.

The truth may be, He's just not that into you.

He's Just Not That Into You -- based on a popular episode of Sex and the City -- educates otherwise smart women on how to tell when a guy just doesn't like them enough, so they can stop wasting time making excuses for a dead-end relationship. This book knows you're a beautiful, smart, funny woman who deserves better

Editorial Reviews

Review

Praise for He's Just Not That Into You: 'The publishing sensation of the year.' The Daily Telegraph 'A new dating book, HJNTIY, is taking Britain by storm! The book cuts to the core of men's behaviour.' Daily Mail 'Sometimes an idea for a new book is so blindingly obvious that we think we should have written it ourselves. The concept behind He's Just Not That Into You is simple but speaks universal truth about the excuses men come up with to fob off women.' Daily Express 'This book, by the relationship consultants on Sex and the City, will be something of a Godsend, as it aims to make life easier for women who want to get past the crappy get-out lines fellas use. It's wickedly hilarious, and it's sure to turn you into a stronger, better-equipped gal!' OK magazine. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

1.0 out of 5 stars Abridgement or gimmick November 30, 2006
By Max
Format:Paperback
If you haven't read the hardcopy version DO NOT waste your money on this marketing gimmick. Even if you have read the book, DO NOT waste your money on this gimmick. An abridgement is a shortened form of a work that retains the sense and unity of the original. Not so here. It is a series of sound bites randomly plucked from the book. This is a sad attempt to extract additional profit from a popular book. The hardcopy version offers some interesting insights. Stay with that, you'll get much more out of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sex and the City Wisdom RULES!!! June 11, 2006
Format:Paperback
Listen up! This is a MAN (the author is a man) talking ... and STOP being addicted to the fantasy that any other way than how it happened would have been better! MOVE ON! Moving on doesn't mean that you don't love the person, or that your whole heart isn't for them, or that the relationship didn't mean anything, he isn't the love of your life, etc... Simply put ... if he won't fight for you ... he is a penny stock emotional investment. You were destined to be the loser if you had stayed any longer than you did. If the relationship was going to crash and burn ... hurt sooner rather than later. Life is to be enjoyed as much as possible. STOP wasting time with the wrong person. Just because he is just not that into you doesn't mean you aren't worthy of love.... you are lovable to yourself! Be your own best love and romance yourself. Only YOU can be 100% into YOU!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book can save you some heart ache April 22, 2005
Format:Paperback
Ok, read this book before you go out and start to date. I like this book from the perspective that before you get invested with the guy watch how the treats you. Now once again, do not get invested with a guy until you see how he treats you. This book suggests you deserve someone that will treat you the way you want to be treated. Do not settle for less.

It is a little cold hearted, but I think for the most part this book might save you some anguish. This book almost employs the tough love approach. You can not work from the perspective that you can make someone into the person that you want them to be, but if they do not match your standards move on, immediately.

Once again this book isn't about forming deep and meaningful relationships, but should really be a way to cull through the men in your life, and finding your keepers. Its a quick read, but worthwhile. A good book on relationships and those dynamics is Make Up, Don't Break Up by Dr. Bonnie Eaker Weil.
