Book Description

February 1995
This is a book about men and women – with a twist. In our society’s honorable attempts to end the unfair treatment of women, we are sometimes less honest about confronting scientific facts about gender differences.

Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Conversation between the sexes can be a minefield, but Lofas and MacMillan demonstrate how to defuse explosive expressions, mannerisms, and relationships. They analyze specific childhood developmental differences and then the problems that can arise within specific arenas of miscommunication, such as parenting, sex, and the workplace. Solutions are supplied, including a whole array of exercises and drills. In trying to point out the common or typical male and female behavior patterns, the authors do not always make room for individual differences in their quizzes and advice, thus, perhaps, leaving those who do not readily conform to a mold with the view that either they or the advice is off base. Overall, there's still plenty to ponder for readers of both genders. Denise Perry Donavin
