For $19 it is a decent buy. As it is original HP and it works with my Compaq presario.

It is extremely light-weight, I wonder if it is a pure electronics adapter. (No transformer with coil) They tend to have lesser life. And as other reviewer has pointed out, it gets pretty hot.

The cable length is sufficient.

I could not believe the price of this adapter, but it's not only the price it's an excellent charger/adapter,it's working perfectly. This is the third adapter I bought since the original one stop working, and the second one had problems from the beginning, and never work properly. I would recommend this one, good quality, and works the way it should be.

I would highly recommend purchasing this power cable directly from the manufacturer. With AC adapters and batteries, you would be much better off getting a genuine product.

The adapter that I received worked perfectly, and charged my laptop as desired. Unfortunately this lasted only about two months. After this time, if the cord was shifted, it would not charge and would have to be repositioned in order to work again. This eventually (in 2 days) led to a non-functioning AC adapter. It turns out the cable severed itself internally from the simple act of plugging it in and unplugging it, as one would do regularly with a laptop.

Concerned with this lack of quality (my old adapter from HP lasted about 4.5 years), I contacted the seller, HP, and Amazon. The seller (Laptops4U) did not respond at all. Then I contacted HP support, who eventually found out that I was sold a counterfeit part that was trying to be passed off as an HP adapter. (For the record, it wasn't because they were trying to sell me one of theirs - they actually referred me to another cheaper third-party seller, and I told them at the outset that I had no intentions of purchasing a replacement) With this new information, I contacted Amazon, who were kind enough to offer me a credit for the purchase, since it was past the refund period.

In short, if you want to make sure you get an adapter that actually works, and is of good quality, purchase directly from the manufacturer. I know it would be over double or triple the price of this one, but it would definitely have been worth it.
