Hewlett-Packard designed the 630C DeskJet printer to meet the needs of home offices and students as either a first or an extra printer. It delivers clear graphics, flexibility, and dependability, with a maximum resolution of 600 x 300 dpi for color. Quick printing speeds of up to 2.5 ppm in color and 2 ppm in black are supported by a 100-sheet paper tray. The 630C printer provides great results on a wide range of media. The 630C DeskJet printer is upgradable to grow as your needs do, offering an optional blackcartridge for faster (5 ppm), crisper black text, or an optional photo cartridge.

The 630C is ideal for printing e-mail, Internet information, school reports, and basic text or color graphics. Durably designed and with eight built-in fonts, it provides quality printing on many sizes and types of media including photo paper, transparencies, labels, and more. With a paper capacity of 100 sheets or 20 envelopes, the need to refill the paper tray is reduced, and by manually feeding sheets you can easily produce two-sided printing. The 630C supports both Mac and PC systems with 512 KB of memory. HP's thermal ink-jet technology is facilitated by a single cartridge, and connectivity is achieved through a parallel or USB port. The 630C is compact, measuring at 17 by 8 by 16 inches.

Decent for just a draft printer, but I have had inkjets that had sharper graphics and colors. If you need a cheap printer that works for printing out draft pages, the price is good. If you need photo quality and report-style prints, move to a higher line of HP printers.

Bought this printer about two years ago.Printed rather good text and pictures.Then,I did not know what happened,but the printer sucked the paper into it,causing it to jam and overheat,resulting in a blown fuse.Getting it repaired would be way too expensive,so I bought a brand new printer.This is a piece of junk.Do not ever ever buy it

Amazon, when you decide to label something 'mac compatible', please check whether this is indeed the case. I spent $50 on this printer, only to find that it didn't work with my computer.
