With the addition of the HP 128 KB RAM card you can customize your HP 48GX through plug-in cards--from the 128 KB (available here) up to 1,280 KB. The 128 KB RAM card allows you to choose as much memory as you want, adding as your needs increase. With the additional RAM added to the main memory, you can develop larger programs, store more data in your HP 48GX calculator, or use the card as an electronic disk. The 128 KB RAM card is powered by its own long-life CR2016 battery, which permits you to save your information even when the RAM card is unplugged from the HP 48GX.

This is the perfect complement for your HP-48GX or HP-48SX calculator. These are very powerful calculators but with somewhat limited memory, so with this RAM memory card, you get a LOT of added RAM memory (128KB in these machines is pretty much infinite), so you can access all the features of your calc.

I consider this RAM card (128KB or higher size) a must if you own an expandable HP calculator.
