The HP 640C is user friendly. To set up is quick and easy....It performs very smooth, delivering high quality professional images with rich consistent even color. Whether your printing letters, reports or web pages, it's speed is quite impressive. My 640C is part of my home-office system, and gets its share of work. It has never let me down. The HP Deskjet 640C Printer "Delivers" every time!!!

We've had this printer for a couple years and it works okay for the most part but it has bad days. If I need to print more than 1 document, it will jam or, rather, just stop printing mid-paper. Repeatedly. When I try to reset the printer, it will then kick out nonstop sheets of paper with nonsense letters and syllables at the top of each of the pages. The only way to stop it is to turn off the printer and then reboot the computer. That doesn't always work though.

When the printer is working, the print quality is good and seems to be able to print out professional pages. However, its not always reliable. (It sure would teach a lesson to a college student who waited last minute to write a paper!)

This printer has wonderful color presentation, but, the memory is alittle short. It allows you to print short documents of the internet, and email with no problem, but lengthly documents need an HP with more memory. But, I like it. It will suffice for now.

According to the previous comments I must have gotten really lucky. I've had this printer for 4 ½ years and I've never had a problem. I use it for all of my college work and special projects and it has survived several moves and even more roommates. This is a great idea for kids going to college. I've gotten my worth out of mine.

I have had this printer for maybe 2 years and the first day I got it.... it was printing sort of fast but now.... it takes maybe 1 page per minute only with black and white! If you print in color it takes for 2 or 3 minutes! I suggest to you that this is a horrible printer and that you should not buy this printer unless you want to have a REALLY slow printer!

I don't agree with the previous two commenters. I used 640C for 3 years without the smallest trouble. I'm even using recycled paper. But the woman cleaning the house fell it to the ground. I will now by the same model again.

I definitely agree with V Brown. This is beyond question the WORST printer I have ever owned. Hewlett Packard should know this already but nothing improved!!!. Why I could say this? Coz I have sent it twice for servicing in the service center but it came with the same problem.
I cannot print a simple job over two pages to completion. It
jams and cannot feed paper correctly. I have jumped through
every hoop conceivable and nothing resembling a decent output
over two pages even worst that I have to restart all over again the computer to ensure that I could print again. This is to alarm you all. Do not waste your money!!!
