The LaserJet 8550GN is an impressive, network-ready, large-capacity color printer. It's especially useful for complex color graphics needs--from marketing and CAD to creative and finance. And automatic color calibration regulates the density of each color to give you a superior degree of color consistency from the first print to the last.

With the 8550GN, you can quickly and economically produce up to 12-by-18.5-inch pages on a wide variety of media and weights, including glossy and card stock. The 8550GN manages paper weights from 16-pound bond to 80-pound cover. It has an input capacity of up to 3,100 pages through four different input sources. To further boost speed and save time, the 8550GN includes an auto-duplex unit, which allows printing on both sides of a page automatically.

The HP 8550GN offers 600-dpi resolution with HP Image Resolution Enhancement technology (HP ImageREt 2400) and fast multiple prints with RIP-once technology--all resulting in high-quality output. Its printing speed is 6 ppm for full color on 8.5-by-11-inch and A4 documents, and 24 ppm for black-and-white documents. The built-in 3.2 GB hard drive can store large printing jobs, and it ensures consistent, high-quality printing over the life of the printer. The HP 8550GN's generous 128 MB RAM (expandable to 512 MB) and fast 300 MHz processor can also handle complex pages with detailed color graphics.

The HP 8550GN is network-ready, with remote installation, configuration, and manageability. The process is made easy by HP Web JetAdmin. The 8550GN has drivers for Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, Mac OS 7.1 and above, OS/2, AutoCAD, and Windows 2000. It has one open EIO slot, an HP JetDirect card for Fast Ethernet 10/100Base-TX, and an option for HP JetDirect 600N (EIO) internal print servers.
